Perhaps I will do a little tutorial while I do the commission :) But pretty much, I just draw a bunch of shapes using the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop. Fill it, then with that layer locked use the same lasso tool to fill in different hues of the colour. Once that's done, I just shade and add lighting!
