Strax is the fourth planet in the solar system Straxia, a system located in the Vesta sector of the Orion arm of the galaxy. Strax has two natural satellites, Ik and Tra, acting as its moons, and it itself orbits the binary stars Straxia Alpha and Straxia Beta. Strax has a orbital period around these stars of 372 days, which last 35 hours each on Strax.
A more colder climate, Strax is home to vast tundra regions with thick, forests of spruce and pine-style trees. Temperatures never rise above 10°C (50°F) during the summer and generally fall to −28°C (−18°F) during the winter, with the lowest being −50°C (−58°F). This has led to the Straxian people's well known preference for being warm and why they have retained their fur throughout their evolution. Rainstorms are extremely common on Strax, with thunderstorms being a weekly occurrence, this has led to a number of the flora growing larger as their evolution compensated for the increased amount of water.
The thin equatorial region of the planet is the only area where temperatures rise above 10°C (50°F). With small amounts of deserts, temperatures are known to rise up to 32°C (89°F), with these deserts being dotted with oases.
The northern polar region is known for being inhospitable, with regional temperatures never reaching above -18°F (−28°C). The entire region is covered in snow and ice and is prone to intense snow storms.
Modern day Strax is the capital world of the Strax Ascendancy, with the largest city, also acting as the planetary capital, being Central on the main continent of Stadiak. The surface is scattered with eight anti-orbital defense mass drivers, known as Monarch sites, mostly protecting important military assets and large cities.
The large Simonov Bridge stretches across the Vorolchik Sea, connecting Stadiak to the largest continent of Strax's continental archipelago, Chenov. This was seen as a technological marvel by the Ascendancy and proof that the Straxian people's hardships were over following the defeat of the Union occupation several years prior.

I decided to rework the map of Strax :U since I learned how to actually make good looking maps while doing the galaxy map I did seen here; https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39576975/

My primary reason for making that enquiry was due to the fact that close-orbit binaries plays mighty havoc with the life zones. as the stars orbit, the life zones shift, and, if like most orbits, the track is elliptical, you end up with points in the binaries' orbit where the life zone is no longer a life zone, potentially coming too close where the infalling solar flux provides too much energy/heat (at aphelion) and other points (perihelion) where the life zones are too far apart to provide enough infall. This gets compounded if one of the stars is a variable star, or worse, a flare star.
It's markedly less likely with more distant binaries, especially ones with orbits around the half light year range. Though close still, it MIGHT not cause life zone shifts (though like any binary system it complicates the formation of stable orbits around a single primary.)
