Whoooo! Torrent now officially has a ref! He has existed since late fall last year, but I never even drew a proper picture of him until now!
Sooo yeah. Who is Torrent and what is his significance? Let's find out!
Torrent could technically be counted as a Zero, but is not so officially. He does not have his serial number carved into his tail because he doesn't have one. He is technically #99,5.
Torrent was created by one of the three scientists behind Project 00X181. Said cientist was the only one to realise, that they were creating a danger to the whole world with #100. What if #100 wouldn't obey them? (lol and thats exactly what happened) #100 could possibly put an end to all life on planet Earth, if he so wished.
So Torrent was created, in a half-broken tank in the basement (even more basement than the rest of the place lol) and kept a secret from the rest of the team. No effort went into making him look fancy, since that really wasn't the point. Torrent was, essentially, anti-#100, made to act as a counter-effect to Sarastro. Torrent has no offensive abilities whatsoever. Rather, he acts as a blocking device for #100's powers. Whenever Torrent is close by, Sarastro has no control over any of his powers and all that he has left to work with is his own strength and mass. Torrent has no control over this "ability" and can not just turn it off. It affects only Sarastro.
Torrent was released from captivity merely hours before the big unveiling of #100 was to happen.
Torrent did not act with violence upon release. When his creator let him know why he was brought into this world, Torrent wanted nothing to do with any of it and simply went off on his own. He didn't care, he did not want to fight someone else's battle. He just wanted to try and live his life as normal as he could. And so it was. The scientist had no means of controlling Torrent, and so just had to let him go.
Soon after Torrent had gone, Sarastro awakened in his tank, destroyed the lab and killed more than a hundred people. All of which Torrent could easily have stopped, had he so wished.
Since then, Torrent somehow has gathered most of the earlier and weaker Zeros under his protection. He helps them get along in life with their many shortcomings & together they make up a peaceful and sort-of happy family.
ASP know Torrent exists, and have tried to get him to help their cause many times, but Torrent will have none of it. He doesn't care if Sarastro wants to kill off half of the world's population, its none of his business. He knows he is strong enough to protect those who he cares about, and thats enough for him. He doesn't want to save the world.
Torrent is pretty srs bsns pretty much 24/7. He always has a 8| look on his face. And he basically doesn't have a sense of humor lol. A pretty unnerving personality to be a round, although you get used to it if you spend a lot of time together with him. He is ver calm and collected, and doesn't get angry easily... but if he does WELL YOU BETTER LOOK OUT. because a raging Torrent is pretty damn scary.
Yeah, a pretty selfish dude, isn't he? Torrent is supposed to be the good guy, but you can't really say he is. He would let you die before his eyes and not move a muscle, unless the situation somehow threatened his precious buddies.
I also think its an interesting touch, that the good guy looks evil and the bad guy looks good XD Made their refs match as much as I could, but Sarastro's was a lot longer and taller thanks to his tail and pinion feathers :V
Only like 3 people knew Torrent even exsted before this :'D so he's a completely new character to pretty much all of you. This guy was a blast to design because he looks so simple and didn't need any intricate markings or anything. Oh how I love simple character designs!
Feel free to use him in your contest entries. Like a picture of him and Sarah duking it out (because it does eventually happen, no matter how reluctant Torrent is lol) would be AWESOMESAUCE. He does technically count as a Zero, so you don't need to add any others to make the picture count as an entry.
