//warning cancer
I’m still emotional over this but since many of you inquired about him and asked for updates, I had the visit with the oncologist last Tuesday and she deduced from all the exams that Dean had so far that he has a very rare kind of chronic leukemia, basophil leukemia. He is at an early stage and he is responding well to the iron supplement we are giving him. But there are very few cases of this type of leukemia and even fewer have been treated. This oncologist also said “If it was her dog she wouldn't do anything other than giving him the supplement.” But I decided to try chemotherapy, given that most dogs do very well on it and there is a possibility his condition can stabilize for months. Sure there can be side effects and there’s precautions that need to be taken in consideration but you can never know how his body will react until you try and the therapy can always be stopped. I don’t feel like giving up before trying, if I did that in the past I would have never lived in the US, or realize my dream of being a Concept Artist and moving to Sweden. There’s always risks in life, but you can’t give up before trying because sometimes those efforts are rewarded. I want to do everything in my power to help him in this and I know he would do the same for me. I just hope he will respond well to the therapy so that we can spend more time together and he can be the happy dog he has always been <3
With this said I probably won’t be very active on socials and I am having a tough time working on personal art after work because cancer topics is all I can think of. So I probably won’t be able to post for a while. Thank you for understanding and thank you for thinking of me and Dean, it means a lot. <3
