I like the realism of the Thompson, too. I had a cousin who owned a 1929 model that was in mint condition. He was very protective of it and never let me fire it though. Now he has passed away and the gun is no longer in the family. Bummer.

Guns are also fun to fire and are quite safe if you now how to properly handle and store them and don't do anything stupid. I was rated as a marksman when I was in college. I took a hunter safety course since I had to select an elective and I figured that it would be fun and it was. We had to use .22 caliber rifles that the school supplied and once I found one where the sights were actually true, I memorized its scuff marks and was always the first one to arrive for class so I would be assured of getting the same rifle every time. Was that cheating? Ha-ha!
