There are not many dog breeds in my fantasy world because dogs are kept and bred mainly for working and hunting tasks - not for the sake of good looks.
The elves of my fantasy world are a bit backwards when it comes to using dogs as extra workforce. The eastern elves would probably confuse dogs with wolves, but the elves living up north have slowly begun to adopt and train dogs as a result of ongoing local trade with the humans of Frosthaum. These husky-looking fellas are a great help in many everyday tasks, offering both security and companionship to their kind (albeit sometimes frost-bitten) masters.

The names are a bit silly. Blame the elves. =P

Yikes, yeah! I have a lot of elves and a lot of stories. Basically my elves are pretty generic - some of them live in huge elven cities and are horribly posh and snooty. Others live deep in the forest and are a bit xenophobic. Some of them are poor, passive and oppressed.
During the last decade I have thought about the elven culture of my world very much, concentrating on the many layers of their society and figuring out all kinds of details. So even though they can easily be recognized as elves, I'd like to think that I've given their culture(s) a lot of original character. Apparently I've had quite a bit of free time. =P
