A Beeswax Candle burned upon it's Holder, illuminating the desk it sat upon and the wolf sat before it, rubbing his temple. He had been plagued by nightmares of blazing fires and senseless death, of people and figures, beloved by him, perishing at the hands of an insane being who senselessly destroyed for Destruction's sake.
It pained him to see a favored figure he so beloved, second only to a much smaller and petite figure of similar photonic wavelength, be brought low by said Evil Entity. He feared such nightmares would come true for his version of his beloved peoples, even if these ones didn't have such ridiculously high magicks as the ones from his Dreams/Nightmares.
A look at his desk, brought a Flash of thought, to bring honed hands to build. Wood was taken up in his hands, carved and sanded. Brass was cut, bent and soldered, forming new shapes and parts. Steel was drilled, milled, Twisted and shaped, forming into parts and struts, and Gold was Melted and Etched, before they were steadily assembled into what only his mind could currently dream up.
Holding his creation, the Craftsman from another time gazed upon a Gun, one that most would consider an "Expensive Paperweight" from his old lost world, but in this new world, borne of Petrifying light and Millennia passing, this was the most advanced firearm to grace this Land.
A name needed to be gifted to such a beautiful and Deadly weapon... And he had one... One from a Wyverness that has beauty to go with her strength, that carries a wonderful soul with hair as lovely as Fertile Fields of Wheat, and bears the burden of duty:
Guinevere.
Hefty, Elaborate and Quite Complex, the "Guinevere" Pistol is nonetheless a Surprisingly Reliable, Effective, and quite Resiliant Firearm.
Chambered to fire .50 Lead shot Projectiles, the Guinevere Pistol has a Unique loading system, the most obvious being the Dual Magazine Tubes that feeds up to Ten .50 Lead Balls from the lefthand tube, and Propellent from the Right hand tube, both feeding into a Cylindrical mechanism that sets the ball into the Barrel recess, and carrying powder into the battery position.
The Guinevere has a Non-Standard firing mechanism, where rather than having a striker hit a Primer, or a flint striking steel, the Guinevere uses a striker that strikes a Piezoelectric generator to ignite the powder and launch the projectile, a Roller system deploying to time the rotary loading system to load and prepare the next shot.
A clockwork system set before the trigger, allows the Guinevere to fire ten times before needing to have it rewound, while a lever system set below the triggerguard, allows for emergency Unloading/Reloading of the pistol in the event of the Clockwork either Failing, if the Wielder doesn't want to Wind down the clockwork, or to set the gun into a "Safe State", as the Lever being used both disengages the Trigger and the Piezoelectric Striker.
The Pistol would see use in many hunts, and was considered a Pistol used by Elite Officer ranks during its service in Valakia's growing Military, before steadily being phased out by the comparatively simpler "Valakia" Pistol, a Pistol that removed the Clockwork system and made it into a Lever-Action repeating Pistol, after the fall of Valakia and the retreat of it's people to the Winterlands.
