"Stereoscopic" images are easy to make with a camera but I imagine it would be difficult to render from scratch like this.
something funky is going on under the big ball. I switched the images around and it fixed it. Right eye should be on the left and left I should be on the right. right? That's how I do them.

I've been seeing a lot of stereograms recently. Especially since now Youtube has all those options for 3D videos. so I can watch them even without glasses ^_^
I love cross eye stereograms. I used to hate magic eye though. I could cross my eyes but not do it the other way (wall eyed). so I always saw the images inverted only. I can do them now though (finally).
