Due to his very painful past as a mercenary, he is strongly averse to violence and conflict in general; it’s also why he’s chosen the occupation he’s in, as he feels it’s his way of atoning for his actions in the past, which he feels directly contributed to a civil war that split an ancient country into the two countries they are today.
