"Gah, where is it?!"
Riff angrily searched through the folders of mails for one he needed for a deal renewal.
It was one of the biggest legal deals Linnux made when he was the leader, and Riff refused to lose it just because of a lost mail.
"SKOZZ!! You know where it is?!"
The "taciturn" wolf gestured towards a pile of mails.
Searching through it, Riff found his prey.
"Ah finally!"
As he took his prize, Riff's eyes fell on another pile of opened mails.
On top of it was an visible one.
An offer of employment for Skozz.
What the?!
Riff's curiosity and surprise were too strong, and he looked closer at the letter.
It indeed was an offer of employment towards Skozz, dating to the time before Riff managed to claim Linnux's businesses and made Skozz his second.
And now that he was closer to the pile, he saw that all the other letters of said pile were the same, just from different people.
Riff just looked in surprise at all the letters, before taking them and going to the other wolf.
"Skozz... What is that?"
Skozz looked at surprised at Riff and the letters, then just gestured to their text.
"I know what they are! What I mean is... Why?"
The thin wolf looked at the smaller (when he wanted) wolf in incomprehension.
"Why you didn't accept any of them? I pay you well, but they offer much more! And... well, we get on each other's nerves sometimes. You could do better than me for a boss and-"
Skozz's hand grabbed Riff's shoulder, cutting his rambling short.
He didn't say a word, of course.
But his expression was clear:
"I don't want a "better" boss. I want you."
Skozz had always been treated like a weirdo for his muteness. Life and people dumped on him for this.
Riff had been the first one to extend a hand to him.
At the time, he just wanted a work partner, nothing more, and Skozz was conscious of it.
But he didn't care. It was the first one someone outside of his parents lifted him up from the gutter.
And so, he developed an undying loyalty towards the small wolf.
Eventually, Riff took to his new partner, and they became friends.
Oh, like Riff said, they often got on each other's nerves, with one's ambition and recklessness, and the other's mutism and klutziness.
But it didn't matter for Skozz: his loyalty to his friend was just as undying as the first day.
And Riff, for the first time, really realized how deep this loyalty went.
"Skozz..." he stammered in a choked voice.
He couldn't say more. It was his turn to not be able to say anything for once.
So he turned to actions.
He glomped Skozz.
Who happily returned the hug.

As you can see, Riff DOESN'T need a gym anymore!
And soon, Skozz won't need one anymore too
