Jaggy is cracking a cold one with the boys as he shows off the original Game Boy, a classic handheld game console released in 1989 by Nintendo. Selling over 188 million copies worldwide (combined with the other Game Boy models), this is definitely one of the most iconic handhelds to date, along with selling many popular games such as Pokemon Red and Blue, Super Mario Land 1 and 2, Tetris, Kirby's Dreamland, and so much more!
The original models had a green-toned screen, which meant that there could be more improvements with the console. Therefore, many different versions of the Game Boy were made. There was the Game Boy Light released in Japan only, which had a back light that offered night time play. (Both Pocket and Light models had a monochrome screen unlike the original model). There was the "Play It Loud" models, which were basically just regular Game Boys with color-coded shells, the Game Boy Pocket which was a smaller modeled version, and finally the more popular Game Boy Color, which added a much brighter and more colorful palette to the handheld, offering way more games than it previously did.
The Game Boy ended up lasting for over fourteen years, being discontinued in 2003 to be replaced with the much more advanced Game Boy Advance and later the Nintendo DS! Even with its drastic flaws (It's competition, the Atari Lynx and Game Gear offered color and backlit technicalities) the Game Boy is still a beloved piece of video game history, and Jaggy seems to agree with that!
