The opening performs well in gaining the audiences attention. You introduce True well through this opening setting the preface for characterization early on. Through this characterization though comes an observation of psychology depending on accommodated schema and the purpose of transformation in the work. True realizes the changes and does at least think about them. However, the other characters do not seem susceptible to any of it. However, this is all up to you in defining the transformation event and the characters present. As you continue to develop the work you can support the rhetoric of this problem of the phenomenon with evidence.

Translation from scientific gibberish: Everyone TFED would have people freaking out a bit more. The amount of freak out depends on the person. Yet, you can also create a reason for little or no freaking out. That may make it more interesting for the work.

I do believe if you continue to write this and expand it could have loads of potential.
