Looks good to me. This model must be a late war model because it has the search radar antennas on it. Making it a late 1943 or 1944 built aircraft, if my memory serves me right.

I think the photo was dated "summer of 43", its got the early turret on the nose, yes late anteannas, but before the incorperated beaching gear. I have a photo of a wrecked PBY on a beach of the British island Diego Garcia too

Nice! Must be the Monogram kit, or the Hasegawa rebox. I recently picked one up but it's still shrinkwrapped so I haven't been able to fondle the plastic yet. :) Anything I should be on the lookout for, build-wise?

no, its a pretty solid straighforward kit. I have both versions, this one and the one with built in gear.
