Just going bigger on the hammer, or did the old one get worn out?

My friend just sent out the piston from one of his hammers to get chromed. The accumulator was leaking down overnight, so he'd have to recharge it every day for most of last year's season. Manu wanted 7000 for a new piston, chrome shop wants 1200.

The old one blew up... as in broken bolts and it spit part of it's guts out... Our the new Cat hammer can be rebuilt by the local Cat dealer. It's looks to be a bigger unit too.

Maybe on the first and only try on ones toes or paws... the new hammer is bigger than the old one.

I gots a hammer for free, should work dandy on the Mini, Customer complained it wouldn't hammer, tech told them, costs more to fix than buy new. Picked it up, accumulator was 0 and missing a sealing o-ring, added o-ring, charged off argon tank, works like a champ.. Now need to start/finish plumbing the modified Cat 316 quick coupler to the Yanmar. I think the charging tool cost about $45 and happened to find it at a flea market.

Gonna gouge a bit of a groove in there or just weld the dickens out of it?
