The chilled wind swirled in the air over the snow covered mountain. It flowed around trees and through bushes and over a bus as four female figures stepped off of it before continuing on. Snow crunched lightly beneath the feet of the figures before a male voice spoke up behind them. "You four be careful out here. I'm not due to come back until tomorrow. And there are many dangers on this mountain." said the bus driver with a little concern in his voice.
"Don't worry sir. We'll be fine. We have lodging and won't be taking any risks up here. Thank you for your concern though. We'll see you tomorrow." said the blue furred bat girl in response as her large ears twitched in the cold. The elder snow leopard male smiled back at her and nodded his head. He had to admit, her serious attitude put him more at ease than most of the people he dropped off here looking to snowboard and might be prone to getting lost. He closed the door and put the bus in gear before he turned the vehicle to go back the way he came.
"His concern was unnecessary. But he doesn't know that. There have been a lot of people who've gotten lost on this mountain after all." said the white pantheress standing next to the bat girl.
"I think it's the sign of a good person. He doesn't want it on his conscience that he dropped us off without warning us if anything were to happen to us. It sounds endearing to me Marilyn." replied the bat girl as watched the vehicle leaving and waved to the driver.
"You always look for the best in people don't you Celeste? Wait where is Alice?" asked the pantheress first to the bat girl then looking around. The sound of scraping snow caught her ears and she looked over to see her ocelot companion laying on her back making a snow angel.
"You guys are delaying the fun of our snow trip." said Alice impatiently.
Perhaps Alice is right. What do you think Sabrina? Sabrina?" asked Celeste toward the other feline, a black cat.
"I think coming here is a waste of time. There is much to do around the shop. Then there's that warlock you and Marilyn came across a few months back. Stuff..." she started before a cold sensation hit her across the head.
Sabrina's black braid whipped around as she turned to see her bat friend in the after stance of throwing a snowball at her. "Stuff I'm not going to let you think about for the next twenty-four hours." said Celeste with a smile. Celeste was usually seen by the feline trio as a stick in the mud when they want to have fun. But she is reveling in the idea of taking out some of her own frustrations with her three fellow witches here.
"Oh you've done it now." said Sabrina as she reached down to scoop up a handful of snow herself. A couple seconds later and the new snowball was sailing toward the bat girl. Celeste spread her wings and took flight and let the cold projectile fly below her and into the back of Marilyn's head.
What followed was a slow turn of her head, before she pulled a short thin straight object from her pocket. Her wand. Words laced with magic flowed from her as she swung the wand forward and a ball of snow lifted from the snow on the ground near her and flew at Sabrina next. Sabrina ducked the attack and pulled out her own wand. "If it's a snowball fight you want I'd be happy to oblige." she said as she prepared herself for a fight.
From the ground Alice pulled out her own wand and leapt away from where she was as a new snowball struck where she had been before. She looked up to see Celeste hovering in the air with her own wand drawn.
What followed was a battle royale snowball fight between the four friends to kick off their little snowy vacation. None of them thought about work or anything else but having fun the whole time.

Wanted to get this piece posted before Winter officially ends. It's already warming up here in the High Desert. I don't often show my witches just goofing off and having fun. So I asked

I need to use them more often. At least I got to show them in a more lighthearted light this time.
In all honesty I wasn't planning on writing a story for this one. Mood was too low when it comes to writing and posting in general. I ended up spur of the moment writing a short for it just to set the mood.
