I'll confess, I went into Anthrocon poorly prepared. I didn't have any spare bristol board, nor did I have any real idea of what I was going to commission. Having hastily made a list on Friday of characters I wanted to see, Paul Henri stumped me for a moment- I didn't know who could best illustrate him. Then I bumped into
rgibson.
I enjoyed coloring this piece for a very different reason than I enjoyed coloring Cybre's take on Elise De Vos. While Cybre gave me the opportunity to color a beautifully crisp pencil piece, Roz gave me the opportunity to color a piece with a firm grasp of line density. Without color the piece pops out beautifully, but that can make color a risky proposition- bad color choices can drown the composition.
I realize that I rated this piece "General Audiences", but that it has blood in it. In the past I've erred on the side of caution, but I realize that the bloody parts of this image aren't any more severe than a PG rated film, and unless you're showing Fred Savage to your young children (which would be unwise), I think we're all pretty safe here.
