That question can be answered in a few parts here..
The parts are cheaper to get than a finished piece because your just buying the parts. When buying a finished piece your paying for not only the supplies but also the time put into it. The real thing is, do you want to put something together or do you want something that you can wear as soon as you get it.

Ya, theres a bunch of things that go into it, it's fun but it can suck up money if you aren't selling them.
