Yes, I am a paleontologist, although I do have an amateur interest in some archaeology. It is not uncommon to see the two confused.
But also notice what the trilobite is on. That could be an ancient textile. Perhaps it was even used to cover the trilobite after it was found by a member of an early civilization. Well, okay that isn't the case, but archaeologists and paleontologists do sometimes work together as I am sure you know, so maybe your fursona could join mine in a future picture.

Absolutely outstanding piece of artwork... I mean there is some overall standart in all of your stuff but this is really great. The colors are great, brushwork is just enough to make it look super realistic but the best part of the composition is the lighting! I love how you placed shades and lights... really gives a sense of atmosphere.
Dang.. You have absolute mastery with making your works look like organic 'snapshots' in time (is there a proper artistic term for this? idk) It really comes through that he's mid-thought and the way he's holding the brush, resting his hand where it is, that he's deep in concentration. Love it so much!
Looking through your gallery again for inspiration and.. Wow.. It would be amazing to see "art progress" meme from you :o
Your latest pieces actually look much different from what you did, like, few years ago. It is a smooth process but your works look more and more realistic and painterly *o* the light, the feel of the air is so fascinating! You do it very well c: I adore this sketchiness yet high detalisation and realism.

I've made it recently myself and discovered that my "art goal" was different through years: I used to like detailed pieces, for example, so I was trying to make a super detailed lineart piece or a hyper realistic painting etc. (so it looks like 3d render or photo) It wasn't obvious for me until now and it was fun to discover : D
