Here is a pic of the end... to show the welds wrapping around the ends of the plates. If this was going to fail it would start at the ends of the plates that is the reason for the heaver welds at the ends of the plates. I'm sure the three passes I put down was ample BUT by beefing up the ends I know cracks are not likely to start there anytime soon.

About the only thing left is to put a lifting eye on it so it can be moved around with a single chain... I have some weld on 3/8 chain grab hooks... I like that idea.

I have watched some of the guys in the pit use the old rock hammer as a prybar to move rocks... so I want what I have done to hold up to the abuse the new rock hammer is likely to see.. in shot I don't want this coming back to haunt me.The
