Guarding the Master Emerald can get boring. And the only action that ever takes place is whenever a sneaky thief attempts to get a hand on the oversized gem. Knuckles does enjoy a good fight, even if it isn’t about protecting his large gemstone. But even an echidna gets bored after facing the same foes multiple times, it eventually gets repetitive. Luckily, the red guardian has access to powers of unbelievable imagination. Sure, using some ancient magic to boost your strength would undoubtedly make fighting jewel thieves more exciting.

But why enhance strength? Why not something new like height. Knuckles certainly could put it to good use. Not only would he have an upper hand in combat, but thieves would definitely think twice before approaching the Master Emerald. With that in mind, the eager echidna didn’t waste another second before calling upon the ancient powers of the big emerald stone. He felt the power enveloping within his body immediately. In mere seconds he outgrew the magic stone he was supposed to protect. At his current size, he could easily jam it between his gargantuan toes.

Although a bit concerned at first, he felt incredible nonetheless. He stood far up, having a great view of all his surroundings. It was hard to believe that he once was a mere ant on the very ground he now stood on, compared to his present size. Such an amazing size would bring forth some fun opportunities. The giant echidna already knew what he wanted to do first. But that would require some patience and carefully steady organization.

Moments later, a well-known jewel thief approached the completely unguarded Master Emerald. It was none other than Rouge The Bat. She saw this as her golden opportunity to finally snatch that oversized gemstone from the hot-headed echidna. But before she could even lay a finger on it the ground began to shake. To the charming bat’s utter disbelief she wasn't all by herself. Out of nowhere, the red brute who usually foiled her plans of thievery appeared behind her. Or shall we say his enormous toes, Knuckles himself was standing miles high above the puny batgirl.

"Let me take that off your hands, little thief." The gigantic echidna announced joyfully as he bent down and picked up the Master Emerald to secure it. It was a horrifying view to the winged jewel snatcher, seeing Knuckles all tall and mighty looming above her with an expression of pure cockiness was a nightmare come true. "Now then, what to do with a tiny bat that likes stealing jewels?" The colossal guardian asked down sarcastically knowing full well what he desired. Rouge wouldn't just get to experience the ancient powers of the Master Emerald but also the forceful pressure of Knuckles' naked foot as well.
