East and West
A Thursday Prompt poem

Prompt: “Here be dragons . . . “
East:
The Sun’s radiance lends no luster to its smallest scale,
In unity with the Celestial Harmony it needs no wing,
Base things will quail at a glance of its shining eyes.
The clouds make way for its path through the skies,
Its wide wisdom surely the envy of every living thing,
The thunder’s crack cannot match the idle flip of its tail.
West:
It robs and kills, but not from need,
Inflicting terror on the helpless at its will,
Its lies would try the sacred patience of a saint,
Its lair found amid the fumes of its unholy taint.
Searching on leathery wings for easy kill,
It sleeps upon gold, lazing in its greed.

Very lovely. There's a lot of differences in how the East and West see things as a general rule, and not all of them are apparent nor as easy to glean.
In Schizophrenia, there's a great tendency for it to manifest as 'benevolent spirit guides' in the east, especially the parts that have not been as intimate with civilization from my understanding. In the west, because we're so modernized, the auditory hallucinations tend to manifest as...well, what we have learned to expect. In essence, we project upon these hallucinations our own beliefs...
Perhaps the same is true of dragons.
