I never loved nobody fully--
--until now. :]
Sappy cuteness for my mate, since today is our anniversary. (Yeah, I know, the day before Valentine's day. It was the night of the full moon, at the time, too. XD In fact, the entire story sounds like something out of a bad foreign film.. crazy romance.) This drawing is a reference to the music video for the Regina Spektor song "Fidelity", which he really likes. I do too, it's an overwhelming adorable video. If you haven't seen it before, look it up on Google video and watch it.. 'tis amazing. The coloured sand represents opening up your heart to someone and letting them play with it.. basically, taking on the risk of heartbreak for the benefit of true love.
I tried colouring with markers for the first time. Not sure if I 100% like the results, but it's growing on me. :] I'll upload the plain inks to my scraps, too, since I like them better.

Nah, when I work with coloured pencils (which are my favourite traditional media to use, hands down) I usually do tons of blending with the shading, and so I'd never produce something so vector-art-ish as this. I used brush-tipped Faber-Castell markers on this.. which it seems you can get really nice line quality with. :D I'm just starting to get used to them, this was the first piece I tried colouring with 'em, but I'm pleased with them so far. Which is good, considering I blew 80 bucks on them. XD Ugh, the paradox of being an artist.. the supplies are so expensive, and you get paid very little for your work. o_o;
Anyways, thanks! :3
