I was reading "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" translated to Swedish. One particular sentence made me laugh uncontrollably. It described giant polypous creatures that slide by the protagonist, and the adjective used in the Swedish translation suggested a timid, inconspicous motion that contrasted comically with the nature of a polypous horror of cyclopean size.
