You must be wondering what that TF device is supposed to be. Let me explain.
That contraption originated from the Monica's Gang 2007 feature film, "Uma Aventura no Tempo". Long story short, it's a time travel adventure. Jimmy Five is sent to the future, and on his journey he meets a space pirate captain named "Aurora Borealis". After she raids the spaceship he was in, the villainess placed this staff that transform the victim into a "space mouse" as a timer counts down. That'd be Jimmy. The only way to deactivate the staff was to say the passcode, which is Aurora's full name. The problem? Jimmy Five suffers from rhotacism, and he's unable to pronounce his "R"s, and the device won't recognize the passcode when it's mispronounced. He at least is lucky that the device isn't the kind that punishes incorrect passcode imputs with decreasing the timer.
Slolwy, Jimmy Five suffers a rather simplistic mouse transformation, which includes growing a tail (which doesn't even rips a hole on his shorts), a muzzle with whiskers and rat ears. Other than that, it's pretty tame compared to other Rat TFs scenes, such as both of "The Witches" movies or "Prince of Azkaban", so there's no shrinking (or like I said before, any clothing damage for that matter), no fur and Jimmy's voice doesn't change much other than a slight lisp when he gets buckteeth. Luckily, his BF Smudge shows up just as the device's countdown is VERY close to ending, and correctly says the passcode (although only after getting it wrong a few times because he can't understand his friend's speech impediment. Or he was just making fun of him, part of Monica's Gang classic cynical humor), and Jimmy Five's soons back to fully human. The TF iteslf is very slow, and compared to other ones like these, it's very child-friendly, compared to the horrors of the Witches, so for any TF fans, don't get your hopes up.
Anyway, now that the rambling about the device's origin is over, here is Bolero suffering a similar situation, but since this is an upgraded version, it has a more impactful transformation. Why doesn't he try saying the passcode? I am guessing Aurora realized that he wouldn't have the same speech impediment that Jimmy Five had, so she just left the bear in the dark. Even if he DID tried out her name, what are the odds she didn't change it to something more complex? Considering she comes from the 30th Century, maybe she listed a word that doesn't exist on the rather archaic universe of Ernest and Celestine.
This is kinda of a sequel for the "Ernest shrinks" comic I've made a while ago. Originally I was planning for Bolero to have a similar shrinking affair, with the three mouse sisters (Margontine, Mandarin and Mélusine, who originated from the TV series based off the franchise), but I've decided to change it to a TF instead. I am guessing the three sisters still played a role in helping Bolero out,a s he didn't just turn into a mouse, but a MOBINI (Archie Sonic's term for non-anthro animals, kinda like how Mobians are the anthro ones) mouse, so he no longer is able to speak human language or walk on two paws. Maybe their group will cross paths with Ernest and Celestine (with the former still shrunk) and the girls will try to find a way to revert both bear's predictaments. This is gonna be a chore that's for sure.
I'll leave the events leading to this outcome to your imagination. But keep in mind this is from the KND All-Stars continuity.

Hmmm, interesting. Was rather easy for me to find the movie in question on Youtube, though not much in the way of subtitle options so some of the jokes and story elements are lost on me, but I think I followed it pretty well enough. I guess being so far from the future would explain why Aurora looks so aesthetically different from the rest of the characters.
Still, backstory of the device as well as its implementation in this picture is quite nice, especially when cranking up the transformative aspects. Sure, I admit I may have been interested in seeking the considered shrinking concept, but there's enough aspects of that in play here too so, definitely a great sequence.
A spiritual sequel to another person's request hmmm? Now I'm kind of curious if all the requests made end up in some way part of your overall canon. If so, I'd be very impressed to see how it all clicks together in the long run...especially with all the different inputs and requests coming along...but then, I wouldn't mind seeing what other 'sorta-kinda' sequels to such requests could spawn forth from your imagination. Good work overall =D
