Originally I was just planning to have my Friesian stallion character Steppenfire drink from a spring... but during the discussion about the painting, Geo Saiko had some very interesting ideas that appealed to me as well.
Water spirits in the form of ice horses swirl around the Friesian stallion, which were awakened when he broke the ice on the shore of the frozen lake with his hooves to drink from it. They whirl around him... perform a dance of cold and ice to drive him into their icy trap. How will this battle between death and the world of the living end...?
