Anything I color always comes out looking flat and boring. But this is awesome. :D

Depends on what computer I'm using. :/ My Mac, I use Photoshop, my laptop, and I use SAI.

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI i did this on SAI.

All I really do is start with a dark background, and then use the brush tool to paint the colors in. All the shadows on this pic are the dark blue of the bg. It works well to start with a shadow and then paint it with the normal colors, instead of starting with the normal colors and then highlighting and shading, if that makes any sense at all. :3

Yeah, that definitely makes sense. I actually found a way to color today that I like that's REALLY similar to that, but if the way that you explained works this well, I'll have to try it.
