"And nobody knows who I am... Y'know?"
Just two lads having a talk over breakfast, about life and losing one's sense of identity in your performance and content you put forward for other people, and how you start to feel like nobody knows the real you because they get to know an idealized version of you with little to no flaws and that can leave you feeling alienated and put on a pedestal, bordering on feeling dishonest-
Or maybe they're talking about girls.

That context... Oof. Is it imposter syndrome if you feel like you're impersonating a better version of yourself?
I really adore the lighting in this scene. The bright center focus light with the outlines of the cityscape in the background, the way the glasses on the table are backlit and you can even see the shadows in the halo lights of the table-
And fuck I really love the halo lighting here, the soft glow around the edges of their bodies, and the way it manages to wash out and obscure the tips of Comet's ears.
I also really like how well you lined up the characters to the rule of thirds, with Comet's eyes landing almost perfectly falling on the top-right intersect and how it draws your eyes right to the animation.
I just really love this whole image, it's a really beautifully set piece and that context hits... Really hard. And now I really wanna give Comet a hug.

"mn. It's so easy to get swept up in the performance. It's a delight, sure, to push buttons and rile folks up and revel in that excitement. But - then that's who you become to them; that becomes the precedent you set and how they see you. It can be alienating when you have no one left able to see you as vulnerable."
"Of course that's the tricky part. Performance relies so much on commitment... Or at least it often feels like it has to. It's hard when you run out of folk to be vulnerable with, harder still when you play games I'm your head to weigh opportunity cost of your emotional outlets. That you may lose one to only maybe acquire the other. That if you can just tough it out you won't need the other outlet and you can have your cake and eat it too."
