As you can see the hammer entrails are showing... I have to wonder how much pressure it took to break off or pull out the threads of the bolts out that kept the accumulator dome in place... I know the system pressure on the excavator is 3000 to 3200 psi... so for those bolts to let go it had to be much more than that.

I forget what it is that makes them hit the hydraulic system with bad pressure spikes. Someone ran me through how those things work at some point.
Kinda bet on that accumulator's diaphragm leaking, then once the thing's full of fluid instead of having a gas cushion on the other side you get massive pressure spikes that blow hoses (and apparently blow the cover off the accumulator)
I'm the sorta cheap bastard that'd try and toss a new diaphragm at it.
Much smarter to just pressure wash it, slap some paint on and throw a couple bolts at it. Make it all pretty for the auction.

I don't have the knowledge or experience with compressed air/hydraulics to know :)
All I do know is that the buddy tank style cylinders I use with my custom target air guns are rated to 3000 psi and "bad things can happen" if you get stupid with them (hand grenade anyone?).
Thankfully, they have burst seals designed to fail before that can happen :)

Looking at the things that come from you, I remember how as a child my mother took me to the factory, and I saw a lathe, huge in size. The man in charge of it was sitting near the chisel, which had gnawed into the metal of a huge workpiece. and he seemed like an ant in comparison with the machine and this workpiece.
all this still seems incredible and majestic. but it also makes it clear, since your last photo session, that no matter how a person boasts of himself and his achievements, mother nature and the earth still have more splendor and strength. When will we learn to understand this ...
the other day my sister decided to take part in the competition of pendants and their designs. She remembered the moment with the world tree of good and evil, and the tempter snake. I also thought, what if we suppose Eve did not take the apple. Probably, the first people were still able to gain wisdom so that, having tasted the apple, by God's permission, they could behave more rationally. without being mired in sin. Humanity could develop in a different way.
