Rienkosh had been a somewhat late introduction to the party. Despite his deadly precision in battle, the Monk was a bit of an airhead when it came to more mundane things in life: only just proficient in Common, clueless about the value of currency, blissfully unaware of societal norms, prone to assuming dream logic was a valid explanation for abnormalities… The list of things Rienkosh only had a vague understanding of stretched on, but his innocent, bubbly personality made those would-be shortcomings into genuinely endearing traits.
What the party never thought to account for though, is that one morning they’d wake up shrunk and scattered across the foot of the goofy monk’s bed.
The sound of the sleeping giant’s rumbling movement would snap most of them awake just in time to witness the massive bandaged soles coming right for them. Gigantic toes wiggled playfully as every last one of the micros was swept up in a flurry of motion of the monk waking up. They’d find themselves flying high up into the air, holding on to the enormous feet for dear life as Rienkosh swung them overhead. The toes would curl and uncurl, crackling a little and threatening to crush a few of the tinies as others would find themselves smothered between the soles, caught in the relaxing motions of the titan playfully rubbing one foot against the other.
With a yawn Rienkosh would stretch his arms over his head as his honed senses easily picked up on the distressed motions coming from down at his feet. He’d chuckle softly thinking some bugs got tangled up in his bandages again. To the collective relief of the trapped micros he’d his sole towards himself for a closer look. But instead of shock or recognition, the monk – thinking he must still be dreaming – let loose an adoring “Awwww!” At the sight of his travelling companions, clinging to his soles. “I had no idea you liked my feet so much!” He’d exclaim, completely unfazed by the fact that his friends were barely a fraction of their original height.
They’d yell out for him to stop, to help them, but Rienkosh would just giggle and lovingly squeeze his speck-sized allies between his soles, gentle as can be while they felt their tiny bones creaking under the ungodly pressure.
“Heehee… You all look so cute down there!” He paused, bringing a single finger to rest on his chin. “Down? Up? Hmmm…” Arms cross over his chest, the monk got to pondering this confounding question, leaving the rest of the party to deal with him idly shifting his soles about, lost in deep thought.
