Another pic done by my friend RockyGems. I just saw Raya and the Last Dragon and I'd rank it as one of my top three favorite Disney films besides the Lion King and Wreck it Ralph. Seeing as I love making families for characters, I decided to come up with one for Sisu. Now the black dragon is her husband Jarek, and the little one is her son Reiko. Jarek's magic allows him to turn invisible, while Reiko has storm powers. Now onto their info.

First off, Jarek was not born a dragon, but he was once human. He was a thief who thrived in the initial chaotic setting the film had. With Kumandra divided and constantly on the alert for the Druun, he found it easy to steal. Jarek himself was a very self centered individual, who wanted to make himself comfortable with his spoils. However, he did have a heart as he cares greatly for his twin sister and her daughter, his niece. When the Druun were defeated, and the land united, Jarek found it hard to steal, so he accepted a job with some shady people. Though the job went off without a hitch, he was betrayed and knifed in the gut, and his body thrown in the river. Jarek died there, but awoke on land in the body of a dragon.

He was found by Sisu who took him under her metaphorical wing and taught him how to use his dragon magic. Over time, Jarek became a better person, and in time he developed feelings for Sisu, and she for him. The two then became mates and had a son named Reiko together.

Now by the present, Jarek is largely the more grounded one of his family, and he tends to be rather sarcastic and snarky. He cares greatly for his wife and son, and although he can come across as stern, it's largely because he wants what's best for them, and because the trauma of his death caused by his former lifestyle has him scared. Reiko is a bundle of fun who combines his father's snarkiness with his mother's goofiness. Reiko can be a bit full of himself at times, largely this is due to his mother's celebrity status but he is an overall good boy. He is well aware of his father's origins as a human.

I should note Reiko is loved by both sides of his family, and likewise Sisu's siblings accept Jarek as her husband. In fact, Sisu's eldest sibling (I think his name is Pengu? Not sure) thinks Reiko could become a bridge between humans and dragons.
