The wings I often draw on my fursona? I feel them for real. They've been part of my self-image for the majority of my life. No other wing suits me aside from those of the bat/dragon. I can't have any other wings, and have a hard time not having these. The wings are a core part of my identity.
But they're not real. I know they're not real. I know something in my brain or senses is off that thinks they're real, that feels them stretch out their muscles and sinews. I know that while I "feel" these wings, I cannot fly. It would be outright malevolent to tell me that I can fly simply because I will the wings to be real and feel them in my heart.
If only more people could follow suit, and accept that their own thoughts and emotions can't override facts.
