My long overdue commission for the amazing
bai who I sincerely apologize for making wait so long, as well as not completely coloring this piece for, but I just found that color didn't suit the over all work because it just became too chaotic and stressful to work with...so I made it moar gothic! >B3
This here beith actually not so much the appearance of meh Lovecraftian concept of Bai'zathan (which is impossible to perfectly capture as a visual, what with him being an old one and all, your eyes would melt out of their sockets along wif da brainz), but rather, a pictoral and symbolic representation of the being's history.
Upon the sealing of the gates beyond aeons past, Shub Niggurath, The Black Ram of The Forest With A Thousand Ewe, did sire and consume her children many, yet was it to be that Yog Sothoth lay vigil, with plans within plans.
The Key and Gate did steal away with one of these calfs, and lay the seed of time within nature to bear forth a servant for the future of his manipulations.
So came the rise of Bai'zathan, The Chaos of The Preordained, and Reaper of Serpents.
(Left to right)
"Upon the consumption of the outer wyrms and their knowledge, Bai'zathan's root in Yog Sothoth's plans became absolute, and it was upon being fed the seed of the all seeing outer god that Bai'zathan joined the ranks of the Old Ones, now cloaked in the madness of the void that desired more, for there could be no sating the emptiness now within the beast.
Twas then on the cresent moon of Greece, the Chaos of the Preordained did descend to the mortal realm and veil murder after murder of selected targets chosen by the Key and Gate, who guided his foster child towards the hidden factions of the High Priest: Cthulhu.
Within mortal guise, Bai'zathan did spread the seed of time unto others, and did become the standard bearer of Great Cthulhu, only to lose sight of his master Yog Sothoth, and become a shapeshifter and wooer of intrigue.
So was it that the Reaper of Serpents did construct a tower that reached to the heavens, one that would be used to both welcome the return of R'lyeh from the depths of slumber, and divine the will of the Beyond One. The rest is clouded in the darkness of ignorant speculation..."

Oh...ah well, I can always change things, and sure! Feel free to post it! It's your commission, and I'm just glad you approve of it!
Btw, was there anything specific you (dis)liked about the backstory? I can elaborate or lessen certain areas or out right change it if you want. :3
