Hot take here: Lola Bunny from Space Jam.... isn't good????? HERESY!!!
Okay since when did people like Lola from Space Jam? Last time I checked she was hated as pandering, sex appeal nonsense and now people have done a 180 on her??? Get the fuck out of here, she was garbage then and garbage now, nothing has changed because that movie is FUCKING GARBAGE. And let me get this out of the way, Space Jam 2 shouldn't exist at all, the original was made because of greed and we got 90 minutes of corporate shit that has not aged well in the slightest and I guess not much has changed because that's what the new one is gonna be.
But back to Lola, her design is 10x better now than it was in the original, but that's all we have to go off of at the moment until the film comes out and we get an actual look at her character, people need to chill the fuck out because this isn't some attack on your porn or whatever, it's literally a slightly tweaked rendition of hopefully not the same character, also this is a fucking kids movie, you don't need your sexually gratifying characters in everything.
Besides THE ACTUAL BEST LOLA ALREADY EXISTS. Man, what a shame that in today's climate of reboots and remakes that Looney Tunes Show doesn't get the praise it deserves, it literally took one of the blandest characters ever and made them an overly obsessive stalker, Lola is fucking hilarious, literally everything she says is gold and the voice acting is great stuff.
Here's some of her best moments as well as an old Nostalgia Critic video that I feel holds up pretty well about the topic.

Yeah, I definitely agree. The only reason why people liked her in space jam was because they got horny. She wasn't written very well in it, made to be a sassy love interest of sorts to Bugs Bunny at the time who could hold her own well enough but eventually gave out to make way for the main characters. Shallow appeal and cliched role.
... Not that the hot shallow appeal doesn't have it's own positives, of course. It definitely made her memorable.
But I haven't checked out the Looney Tunes Show much, maybe it's a cult classic with how few people see it's brilliance?

What about ''the new looney tunes'' version of lola? she was fun and entertaining to watch

Debated actually putting my two cents in, but it was an 'okay' movie. Two, in the original they had two 'good' basket ball players and that was MJ and Lola. The rest were mostly there to fill the roster to actually play the game. Three, while the TV show has its moments from what I've seen. Lola didn't deserve the 'stalker' persona they gave her. They took a strong, confident, and intellectual character and turned her into a joke. She was a great foil to Buggs, not just as a love interest, but by the qualities and strengths of her character. Where Buggs can be his usual cheeky and round about self, she'd be to the point and up in its face. Her brand of sass was a welcome breath of something new to the large roster of goofballs that were the Looney Toons because it threw Buggs for loop when often he was this 'unassailable' enigma that just 'won' all the time. It added to his character, same with Daffy having Tina. Again, from what I've seen of the show. She's a good foil for him. Beating a dead horse now, but anyway... I will agree on one thing, SJ2 really shouldn't be a thing. It didn't before, and still does not ever need a sequel. It was fine as a solo title, just good fun to watch and laugh at.
I'm already not going to see the movie for various reasons. I don't need the new shit ruining the good memories, and no sense to go see it when all it'll do is encourage more cancer culture horse shit to just go murder more of my childhood.

Counter point, Lola is none of that in Space Jam, she is literally an object to be lusted over and thirsted, she has one scene where she scolds Bugs for calling her doll but any moment of empowerment for her is ruined by the fact that the movie has to remind us that she's hot and even when Bugs gets told off he goes comically stiff, because erection joke. So her back talk isn't even taken seriously, if she was actually strong the characters would have respected that but they didn't.
I will however cut it some slack because none of the characters are written well and they're all made to be incompetent piles of sludge that can't do anything for themselves.
But with LTS, since it's a sitcom it has more time to develop personalities and play around with character dynamics which it does great, and again it's not really fair to Space Jam but for the sake of argument, Lola is a nothing character in the movie.

You're comparing DragonBall Evolution to John Wick but trying to sell it like its Avatar, but whatever. The saying "you can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink" applies here.
But hey, silver lining. You're entitled to your opinion whether you're right or wrong, so I'll leave it at that.

I honestly do not understand how you got that assumption because I very clearly do not. I'm sorry my response to evade the matter further confused you, but I'll try an clear the misunderstanding.
LTS turned Lola into a poorly written joke. Its as if they looked up her name on wikipedia, seen her goldish yellow color and thought "Hmm, lets go with dumb blond." then called it a day. Much like they did when they started writing DBE.
DBE being both a commercial failure and unwanted travesty to the DB fandom being right up there with the Star-wars Christmas special, as opposed to the 'for sure' to be cult classic and commercial success that is the John Wick series. You preaching the greatness of LTS for what its done, is like saying DBE is equal to the box office masterpiece that was Avatar.
To put it more simply. You're comparing Dirt (LTS Lola) to Gold (SJ Lola), and saying the Dirt is equal to a Diamond.

But your counter point to mine was basically a dodge at any form of discussion and went for the classic dismissive tactic of "well, you're entitled to your opinion" as if I'm not capable of understanding that yes this is my opinion, one based on fact, and the fact of the matter is Lola was handled way better in LTS than in Space Jam, I even provided examples of how Lola was handled better (fixed the links) and I also acknowledged that it's not really fair to compare the two because one is a 90 minute movie and the other is a two season show with 40 some episodes. If Dragonball Evolution is Space Jam and LTS is John Wick then it sounds like you don't even like the thing you're defending, you're the one making wild comparisons.
Meanwhile you fail to give me any examples of Lola being a "strong, confident" character, in her five minutes of total screen time she shares it with other characters ogling her appearance , doesn't say or do anything of note and is just a token female, her not liking being called "doll" is not a character trait. Once again I acknowledge that every other character isn't written that well anyway, like Bugs has to be written as an idiot for Lola to even get a leg up on him which LTS does not, that doesn't make a strong character and Bugs doesn't always win either, in LTS and even the classic shorts.
So I don't get where this dismissive, reductive attitude is coming from, this is just a discussion about a fucking cartoon character dude, if you didn't want to continue this discussion then you didn't have to and it's fine that you like one over the other, I'm simply giving reasons why one is better than the other with proper evidence. Like it or not, LTS Lola is still a character, SJ Lola is a prop.
But at least we agree that Space Jam 2 shouldn't be a thing.

Yes it was a dodge. I seen your response, and concluded there was no middle ground besides our mutual agreement that SJ2 is a dumb idea. I didn't see a point to go grab examples because it felt like I'd just be wasting my time when the only responses I expect to get is 'nope nope nope' and 'hate hate hate', as I'm more than accustomed to seeing more often than I'd like. It gets genuinely tiring to try, only to get 'fuck you I'm right because I say so, and fuck your proof of otherwise.', when it happens over and over. So I'll apologize for the dismissive tone.
Her literal first scene begins with a polite introduction, she walks and talks with confidence despite being a new face to everyone present. No ounce of hesitation besides the initial call out trying to talk over 9 others, letting that slide. I'm not talking about the doll reaction, but it does show that she's got a fiery temper if provoked, and the immediate karma that follows the instigator isn't drawn out. Its snappy. She solves the annoyance quick.
LTS's lola's first introduction in (had to research this.) Members only? In just one minute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RqKOLVcN6U She's creepy.
Back to SJ; Two toons oogle her appearance, not everyone. Just Buggs and Tweety, the latter simply makes a comment about it. Nothing major, if anything - that type of girl might be tweety's thing. Which to me is hilarious given the size difference. Buggs reaction is 'nothing' new for toons of that era, but that happening to him? That wasn't a thing before this movie. In all the old looney toons cartoons that I can remember, never once did he act this way. It was a new frontier for him, so sure, and its quite common for love to make everyone stupid in some measure.
Now here is where I'll concede - the difference of five minutes to forty episodes is ultimately vast. There's not a lot of time for a movie to devote attention to one character when they're not the focus and when said character is in a supporting role for the main characters. However, I'll say that - "if" the time was equal between them. SJ Lola has much, much more potential as a character than LTS Lola, because LTS Lola apparently 'had' to be written as an idiot from the get go. She comes off as Bugg's awkward stalker, or worse from just the twenty minutes of her 'best' scenes out of those forty episodes that I could find.
If you took the first minute of their respective introduction cutscene's and showed them to someone who knew nothing of her, I'm almost certain SJ lola would be liked more and it wouldn't be because of her looks. On the flip side, if SJ lola had twenty minutes out of forty episodes of 'her' best scenes. Who knows. Character growth is a result of the circumstances they're put in, in reaction to the others around them, and through self reflection. List goes on, etc etc.
Also; I compared LTS was DBE in that example, but admittedly that isn't fair to LTS because while they do things that put me off - they still do 'some' things right. Where DBE should never have existed, LTS has its place for a new generation with with a more... 'up to date' repertoire of comedy. If they didn't write her the way they did, I probably would have liked LTS Lola too. It just feels half assed and unfaithful to where she came from.

Except she's not any of that, she has her moments but she's not stupid, the things she does feel genuine in the sense that she isn't aware of what she's doing. Her and Bugs' relationship is even more hilarious because of it, they have nothing in common and she can't see that and he just goes along with it because of course he would, what else is going on in his life? It's hilarious.
And then in Space Jam everyone is useless, she's just a token female who's hot but doesn't like to be objectified, even though later in the film she's posing seductively, she's basically those women that wear very revealing clothing and then get mad when you stare for too long.

Huh, normally hear the exact opposite. Like saying this version of her makes her seem stupid and ruins the character as a whole and that the old one was better and blah blah blah. Personally I choose to remain indifferent. Like everyone has a preference and as long as it ain’t harming anybody who cares just like whichever version you want to like and just walk into the sunset, the end.
But my argument is always "what character?" She doesn't have a character or personality in Space Jam, she's a token female who doesn't do much outside of being a sex object. Meanwhile her character in LTS while being more modern fits in with the rest of crazy people in the Looney Tunes pantheon.
And having that kind of reductive attitude is not only ignorant but in some instances dangerous, you don't wanna be like Sleepy Joe basically writing off China's treatment of Uyghurs as a "cultural difference".

Well I did see character in the old Lola. Like I didn’t see her as just a token female character. Like I saw a character who is good at basketball and a real team player and doesn’t take crap from no one and is good and she knows it. And she is concerned for her fellow players and other people.
