Chapter 1

Episode 1: The Journey of new beginning



I been having this same dream again, the same dream that keep on coming back every night. I sometimes try my best to forget about it and pretend it never excited, but no matter what I do, it kept on reminding me to never forget. Never forget the family I once had, that I love and care so much, never forget the good times we had together and the great memories we shared. But I will never forget the time that I lost both my family and my happiness at the same time, when bunch of humans burn our family home. When I dream, I see my home burning down, while the humans laugh and enjoy there handy. I remember hearing my parent screaming for help and trying to find their way out, I wanted to rescue them, save my family from the fire, but the human stroke me down with a club and left me there on the blanket of snow. The last thing before I fallen asleep, is seeing the burning house one last and my eyes close shut.

After having that strange dream, I finally force myself to wake up and see where I was, I notice that I was resting on a pile of snow, but instead of being nearby my home, I was somewhere nearby the side road, that was a few miles heading the underground kingdom. I shake my head a little, trying to get my head back to reality and figure out why I’m here. Whenever I dream about that night of my family death, I tend to be trap in that world and forget that it was only dream, but no matter how much I try to say to myself that, my mind will always trap me there, because it was the only memoires that give me the reason to hate humans. When I got up from the ground, I look up to the sky of the earth ceiling, I still remember the time when my family live in the surface world, I could see the stars all the time and try to count how many they were, but after the great human and monster war, the humans force us to live underground and never to be seen again. It wasn’t fair for what they done to us, just because they think of themselves as the superior being, they could make the rules and tell us what to do, tell us how to live our life or how we feel. I look at my paw and see it start to shake whenever I speak about the war and those human, but I remind myself the lesson from my father once told me, “in life, wars are nothing more but selfish children wanting more things, but if you look further and see the true meaning, war would be nothing more, but meaningless” I always do my best to remember that lesson my father tough me, even though my mother and father were once leather assassin during the war, but I love them both very much. I think about them for a little while, until my phone started to ring, I take it out from my pocket and notice that I got a text from someone. I read the message and it said that they were on their way for our secret meeting, I try my best to figure out what this secret meeting should be, but finally remember what it was about. I remember a few days ago at Grillby’s, I was having something to eat, until a met an old friend of mine that I haven’t see for a while, well I couldn’t say friend, since I only met the monster a few times. He go by the name Sans and you couldn’t miss the guy, since he was made of bones after all, but I was going off subject here. Sans was sitting down and was enjoying a good bottle of ketchup, he usually tell some of the oddest puns in the world, but I do my best to laugh at them sometimes. But after he was done telling me his joke, he said to me that there someone that wanted to hire me for a job, usually I do some odd job on the side, like I said before that my parents were assassins, they taught me a few skills, that help me make a mons, to survive the underground. I ask him who wanted to hire me, but he couldn’t said much, unless I tell him I agree with “boney offer”. I sigh a little knowing that I fell for his puns, I was plan to say no to the offer, but when he mention that the monster that wanted to hire me, is willing to pay me 20,000 mons for the job. When I heard those numbers, I never would though I get that kind of dough, an offer like that would be great to take, but yet part of me feel like that I’m falling for a trap at the same time. I look at Sans and notice that he had his hand out and waiting for me to take the deal, I let my gut leave the house and take the offer. Sans was pleas I take the offer and hand me over a cellphone, I never had one of these before, since mostly I live alone and hardly chat anyone, so I never bother to get one. Sans wink and said that the monster I be dealing with will send me a text and tell me where to meet them and after that, he finally left the restaurant, until we meet again.

Once I finally remember why I was doing here, when I left the restaurant, I got the first text from the monster to meet them by the snowy side of the road, that was a few miles from the underground kingdom, didn’t know why they want to do that, but whatever the job is, I didn’t care less the location. I look around my surrounding, to see if anyone was coming, but no sign of them, what so ever. I sigh a little and sat down on the snowy ground and think for a little while, when I was close to thinking of something, my fox ears starting to hear something not too far where I was sitting, I listen carefully and see where the noise was coming from. I got up and look at the direction of the crunching snow and see someone walking through the woods. I see someone wearing a long robe and wearing several traveling gear, I also notice it was wearing a cloak over it head, so I won’t have the chance to see who it was. The more this mysterious stranger got closer, the height from this stranger was very tall, I met a couple of monster were taller than me, but this one was seem to be a lot taller than anyone I ever met. I look the stranger and notice it was looking straight at me as well, I was plan to move, but the stranger start walking towards me and stood right in front of me. I look at the stranger and try my best to say hello, but when I wave at the stranger, it got fritting of me and held it hand at me and shot a fire flame. I was able to dodge the attack and move very quickly, I look and notice the stranger was running away as well. I see it was the right opportunity for me to face the stranger and ask it of why it attack me. When I got closer to the stranger, I start to felt the ground started to move on it owned, I look at the ground and see it was trying to make a pit hole, I jump away from, but then I saw another one and several of them, it took me a lot of energy to miss them, but I was lucky to dodge them all. I safe landed nearby a safe spot and rest for a moment, before I could do anything else, when I try to look for the stranger, I could hear woman like voice speak to me.

Woman voice: you better stay back monster, I know how to use magic and I’m not afraid to use them against you.

Valo Little Fox: hey, I didn’t want to fight you miss, I just trying to say hello is all.

Woman voice: you were?

Valo Little Fox: yes miss, I wasn’t plan to attack you, I saw you walk towards me and I wasn’t sure if you was plan to say hi to me or something

Womand voice: the only reason why I walk towards you, that I though you was a cute little animal.

Valo little Fox: hey, I maybe little, but I’m not an animal, I’m all monster

Womand voice: and that why I attack you

Valo little Fox: …….. Sigh, I can’t believe this, look miss, I really don’t have time for this right now I’m right in the middle of something important right now. So if you’re the monster that been leaving me text message on the Phone, then we talk, if not, then I guess we go our separate ways.

When I was about to leave the stranger behind and head back to the location I was been waiting at, I saw the stranger finally come out from it hiding place and try to call me back, I stop walking for a second, knowing that she was going to say something to me.

Woman voice: please don’t go yet, I …. I kinda wanted to ask you something important.

Valo little fox: ok then, what is it you wanted to ask me.

Woman voice: you said earlier that you’re a monster right

Valo little Fox: that right, why you ask?

Woman voice, so that mean I’m in the underground then.

Valo little Fox: of course we are in the underground, if you look up the sky, it nothing more but dirt up there.

The stranger look at the sky and was amaze to see the ceiling of the earth, I waited and see if the stranger was going to say anything, but out of nowhere, I could hear the stranger started to cry. Under the stranger hood, I see some shed of tears falling down, I wasn’t sure if she was sad, but these tears weren’t sadness, my guess is that the stranger was happy. The stranger knew she was crying, so she try her best to clear her eyes under the hood. When the stranger stop crying for second, she look at me once more and start talking to me again.

Woman voice: thank you, thank you for telling me where I am

Valo little Fox: um your welcome I guess, but why were you crying for, were you sad because of something I said.

Woman voice: I wasn’t sad, just happy.

Valo little voice: happy for what, being underground, there nothing to be happy with being here.

Woman voice: you don’t understand, where I come from I live the above ground for whole entire life, I been trying my best to find a way to reach here and after so many years searching my way to get here, I finally made.

Valo little Fox: wait, so you’re saying that you’re from the surface world.

Woman voice: yes

Valo little Fox: so that mean, that make you one of them

Woman voice: *she started to walk backwards* one of what?

Valo little Fox: *he pull out his ninjas claws* a human

I jump towards the stranger, hoping to catch her of-guard and land a good hit, but even at her tall height, she was very quick on her feet. I landed on the ground safely, but notice that my claw was able to cut the stranger hood off, which give me the chance to see who it was. At first I was going to see a human and finally get even for the ones that harm my family, but instead a see a monster just like me, but more a goat girl. I look at her and started to blush a little, the strange feeling I have towards her, even though we only met. The goat girl look at me and attack me with her fire attack, but one of them just miss me by an inch. I finally came back to reality and remember what I was doing, I ready myself to fight back, but then relies that she was crying again. The goat girl was crying and attack me with her fire attack, but kept on missing me every time. I did my best to hear her saying, but my mind was feel with rage when I heard her that she from the surface world, all I only care about now, is to punish the human that took my family. When I finally miss her last attack, I finally reach her and brought her down to the ground and ready to make the last blow, when I look at the goat girl once more, she started to cry even more, begging me not to hurt her.

Goat girl: *she crying* please don’t hurt me, If I say something bad, I’m sorry, really sorry

Valo little Fox: why are you crying when we fought, you’re a monster like me, you shouldn’t been crying

Goat girl: because you went and try to attack me and call me human

Valo little Fox: that because I thought you was human, but looking at you now, you’re a monster like me

Goat girl: I look like one, but I’m not really a monster, not a full one

Valo little Fox: what are you talking about?

Goat girl: you see, my father is a monster and my mother is …. A human. I was born more like father, but still have genes from my mother side too.

Valo little Fox: so your…. You’re half human, but is that even possible?

Goat girl: I keep on asking myself that every night, whenever I look in the mirror I see myself as a creature that people afraid of me, but my mother told me that I was beautiful, no matter who I am.

Valo little Fox: your mother sound like a brilliant human

Goat girl: she is, sometimes I miss hearing her wisdom now and then.

Valo little Fox: what happened to your mother

Goat girl: if you let me up for a moment, I will tell you.

So that I did, I help the goat girl get up from the ground and she tell me about her mother. In the beginning she told me about her mom being the famous mage from the monster and human war, she was the war hero to everyone and one of the seven mages that help seal the barrier, the humans were please, but she wasn’t. I learn that her mother fell in love with a monster who look like just like her, they met each other during an epic battle, which the monster was trying to gain territory. The goat girl mother was hurt during the fight and got capture by the monster, but that monster was her father. Her mother explain that her father took good care of her energy and heal her to health, her mother at first wasn’t sure to trust him, but she already knew that the goat monster was kind. When she felt better, she told the goat monster goodbye and hope to see each other. I was curious of how they had the goat girl, but I’m guessing after a few visit, they must the tie the knots. I look at the goat girl to hear more of her story, but the look at her face, that she was reaching the ending part that she doesn’t like to talk about. Part of me would mind to hear it, but I know how sad ending goes, so I got up and walk away from it.

Goat girl: hold on the second, don’t you want to hear the rest of it.

Valo little Fox: I think I got the idea of what you’re going to say, plus I’m wasting a lot time and I need to get going.

Goat girl: *she got up* hold on a second Mr. Fox sir

Valo little Fox: it’s Valo

Goat girl: come again?

Valo little Fox: my name is Valo Fox, some call me little fox, but most know me as Valo Fox

Goat girl: ok then Valo, but I still need your help

Valo little Fox: I wish I could help you, but I’m right in the middle of a job and I don’t want to be late.

Goat girl: what sort of job is it?

Valo little Fox: I’m sorry, I give out classified information that my client give me I wish you luck in the underground, just do me a favor and stay out of trouble.

I feel bad of just leaving her like that, but I had a job to do and I can’t let anything distract me, even though deep inside I really like her, but how can I like her, when I have a hatred towards human. I continue walk a few step away from, but before I even know it, the goat girl was in front of me again. I look up to her and see the determination in her eyes, I was getting annoyed of what she was doing and was going to ask her to move, but stop me from talking and told me that change my mind.

Goat girl: I … I want to hire you for a job

Valo little Fox: what kind of job is it?

Goat girl: I need your help to find someone

Valo little Fox: really now, let me take a guys, after hearing from your story, you’re looking for your father, am I right?

Goat girl: …….. Yes you are

Valo little Fox: look miss, I’m happy to help you with that, but there a slight chance of me finding your father and if you don’t know his name or

Goat girl: his name is Thomas, my mother only remember his first name and know that he serve as a royal guard for the royal family, I wish I had more, but that all I can remember.

Valo little Fox: ok then, so your saying that your father is Thomas, as in sir Thomas Maxwell, high knight and guardian for king Asgore for the underground kingdom.

Goat girl: I …. I think so.

Valo little Fox: ……. Sigh, I can’t help you with a guess, if you think that Thomas Maxwell is your father, then you have to show something that can prove to me that

I stop right in the middle of my conversation, when she show me a ring, I look at the ring and in the middle of it and it had the dreemurr royal crest on it. I couldn’t believe she had something like that in her possession, most monster don’t usually get the royal family item like that, but after looking at, it was the real deal.

Valo little Fox: where did you get this?

Goat girl: my mother got this ring from my father after they were separated, when she and mages closes the gateway. My mom held this ring for a long time, but after she pass, she gave it to me and tell me to find my father and give it to him and let him know what happened to her.

Valo little Fox: and that why you came here

Goat girl: yes, when my mom was gone, I went on a journey to find a way to reach the underground, she couldn’t tell me where to find it, but I was lucky to find her journal and learn the location of a secret cave at Mt. Ebbot

Valo little Fox: Mt. Ebbot, you mean the same mountain that most of those kids went missing.

Goat girl: the very same, but in my mother journal, there was another secret way to get here, without using the one that the children go through. Once I walk through the secret cave and find may here, I knew that I was one step closer to find my father.

Valo little Fox: but the only problem is, that you had no clue where he could be.

Goat girl: true at first, but after mention my father name and said who he is, I’m getting a lot closer now than before.

Valo little Fox: look miss, it was only a lucky hunch that I mention his name, but since you got a ring that belong to the royal family, I guess I should believe your story then.

Goat girl: *she smile* then you will help me

Valo little Fox: I would, but like I already said before, I already got another job with someone and these monster I’m working with, are paying a lot of mon then you would afford.

Goat girl: these mon you said, is it like money?

Valo little Fox: yes and if you have something other than that ring, then the deal is

Goat girl: I do have something, but I’m not sure it really important to me than anything in the world.

Valo little Fox: what you have that you willing to sell me?

She look through one of her travel bag by her shoulder and start searching through it, she took her time to find it, but after a quick moment of searching, she pull out what look like an old spell book of some sort. The goat girl held it out to me and show me how it look, I didn’t care for it at first, but when start explaining, it got my interest

Goat girl: this spell book belong to my mother, the very same book of spell that she use against the monster at the war. If you want something value, then this book will be my payment, if you accept my offer.

Valo little Fox: so you’re saying this is the spell book your mother use against us

Goat girl: and it had certain information about the sealing spell of the barrier.

Valo little Fox: really, so you’re going to sell me that, just for me service

Goat girl: I really don’t have anything at all, my mom didn’t leave anything behind and had no choice, but to survive on my owned. This book and ring is was left of my mom, even though I giving up the only thing to remember my mom, but I will sacrifice anything, so I could be with my father and be a family again.

I could feel her determination again, the very same feeling she show me earlier. Is this what determination feel like from the human side of view, is this what the humans use to defeat the monsters from the war. I never would know exactly, but after looking at the book and think it over for a moment, I sigh a little and decided to help her, knowing that I going regret it later in the future.

Valo little Fox: ok then, I will help you

Goat girl: you will

Valo little Fox: I didn’t say no didn’t I

Goat girl: I guess so, but this is great, thank you

Valo little Fox: hold on a second, just to be clear with this, if you want my help, you got to let me do the talking and lead the way, since your new to the underground there several rules and we need to stick with them. I don’t want you feel like a sour thumb and a monster spot you as a human.

Goat girl: but I look like you guys, can that prove I’m a monster

Valo little Fox: it does, but you got to get use to the costume around her, like the food here and the activity here.

Goat girl: ok then, I think I understand, is there anything else I need to know.

Valo little Fox: there is and I know you won’t like it, don’t tell anyone that your mother is human, if they find out your half humans, things go bad in second.

Goat girl: what they do if they find out?

Valo little Fox: just trust me on that, you better off not knowing, until you’re ready.

Goat girl: ok then *she walk up to him and lift him up from the ground and hug him*

Valo little: Fox: what are you doing *he stop speaking, when the goat girl kiss him on the head*

Goat girl: *she place him back on the ground* I’m sorry about that, I was just excited and happy that you’re helping me, now I could see my father and we be a family again.

Valo little Fox: *blush* um thanks miss and it’s no problem

Goat girl: it not just miss, my name is Dashie, Dashie little goat girl

Valo little Fox: Dashie huh, nice name, but little goat girl?

Dashie little Goat girl: *look at him with anger* hey, it was a nickname my mother gave me when I was little, she didn’t expect that I was going to grow tall then a door, I even still remember hitting the top area of the door, that was painful

Valo little Fox: well then, I guess Dashie just be fine to call you then, so should we get going

Dashie little Goat girl: we will, just after I look through the field first.

Valo little Fox: why you want to do that?

Dashie little Goat girl: since I got here, I started to smell some slugs in the area

Valo little Fox: slugs, don’t you mean snails

Dashie little Goat girl: I eat them now and then, but slugs are more tasty and gooier

Valo little Fox: ………..

Dashie: little Goat girl: hey don’t knock them, till you try them.

So she started running off to a field and hunt down some slugs, I never would never see someone get excited for snails, but everyone like something I guess. I waited for her to get back, but when all of sudden my phone start to ring, I though it be a message, but this time it was a phone call. It didn’t show the number, but my though was it got to be the monsters that I had to meet, I look around to make sure that no one is by my side, so I can take the call. I push the button and speak on the phone, but the one who was talking, was someone I didn’t expect to hear from again.

Undyne: greeting punk, I was kinda hopping to meet you in person, but I guess you want to dis us and go do your own thing.

Valo little Fox: I wasn’t expecting you to call me, or should have known that you’re the client I’m going to deal with

Undyen: that right, I’m the very client that you’re going to work with and since you got our phone, you already accepted our job.

Valo little Fox: if Sans told me it was you, I should had change my mind

Undyne: you and I both know that Sans is a skeleton of mystery, we won’t know what he does, unless he tell us. Now if we try to forget about our past business and continue with a new … what Alphys usually say, right business opportunity, you should see the great benefits of the situation.

Valo little Fox: what kind of situation?

Undyne: the one you’re in right now, the monster your helping with, she have something that the king wants.

Valo little Fox: and that is

Undyne: sorry that one a little classified and we keeping it at that

Valo little Fox: what you want from her?

Undyne: nothing as of right now, just continue what you meant to do and take her to a location that Alphys will send you on the phone later.

Valo little Fox: if you think I going to do something wrong, you got the wrong fox

Undyne: come now, this is the good for our monster kind, once you give her to us, not only you get the mon, but the location of where the murders that kill your family.

Valo little Fox: you actually have that, the humans that kill my family

Undyne: I’m not the one that lies, but yeah I got that information, but in order to get it, you need to do this little favor for us.

This favor she asking is was wrong, not only I betray Dashie trust, but knowing something bad will happen to her. But Undyne have information that I need and that information will help me get even with those murdering humans once and for all. I sigh for a second and tell her my offer.

Valo little Fox: if I accept this, you will not place a claw, paw or anything at all on her.

Undyne: as empress of the underground, you got my words.

Valo little Fox: ok, I see you in a few days.

Undyne: you’re doing a good job for your monster kind, remember that.

Valo little Fox: *he hang up the phone* yeah, whatever you say.

Dashie little Goat girl: hey Valo, sorry I took forever, but I found so much slugs and snails, I couldn’t resist *she eat one of the slugs* want one?

Valo little Fox: I pass, come on we need to get going, before it get late.

Dashie little Goat girl: really, how can you tell when it night time around here

Valo little Fox: it’s depend on the lighting around the underground, I know a place we can stay for the night and I know this friend that will help us.

Dashie little Goat girl: ok little Fox, lead the way

Valo little Fox: …. *blush* it’s Valo

So we started walking down the road, knowing that our journey going to be a lot of struggles and hard choice, but with her determination on our side, maybe I might make a better choice and hope that she reach her father once more.

I hope you guys enjoy this undertale oc story I written for my friend Valo drawer, I was plan to write one whole story, but had so many ideas for it, I might turn it into a three part story instead. Might work the next part next month or two, but give you the chance to enjoy this one.
