This was a quick sketch that I drew at the last minute. I drew this picture of a buff Pepe as a protest (though I doubt it'll do any good).
As some of you may know, Warner Brothers has cancelled and banned the Looney Tunes character, Pepe Le Pew. Why? This is due to an uproar of the romantic skunk being accused of being a rapist because he's always 'stalking and kissing an unwilling kitty'.
Seriously?! How pathetic is that?! Pepe Le Pew, a fictional character who does not exist is being banned for rape? PEOPLE, IT'S JUST A FUCKING CARTOON!!! This is pathetic! First Dr. Seuss, and now Pepe Le Pew? I am SO SICK of this stupid political correctness! It seems like they will not be happy until everyone is living boring, uncreative, and humorless lives. No wonder there isn't much happiness in the world.
Pepe Le Pew really wasn't one of my top favorite Looney Tune character/cartoons, but it was still funny and fun. And this is a real shame to see him go.
Stupid whiny Americans! I hope you and your boring, pathetic lives are happy now!

Nice drawing EJ, Pepe's now someone no one should be messing with here.
There's something even worse than just Cancel Culture. Do some people really want to shove political correctness or any of such politics down even to children's throats, when the very same people kowtow and eat up the Chinese money despite the Chinese government's actions against its foreign visitors, other ethnic groups, and even its own people? The same thing goes to video game companies and to National Basketball Association (NBA)
Children are too young to know anything about politics, and yet some people decide to force PC culture onto them anyway. The worst known examples I can think of are The Emoji Movie, The Last of Us II and Mulan (2020).
These people should know that we all have different opinions, tastes and even prejudices, and that our views, whether toxic or not, should be respected or left alone. Now imagine something worse than just canceling someone they don't like, likely sending them into reeducation programs, brainwashing them, or even worse performing brain surgery onto them against their wish. Imagine the same thing to be done onto parents.

Man, that’s a really sexy depiction of Pepé Le Pew.
But Pepé being “canceled” is highly debatable, he was only removed from the upcoming Space Jam sequel. Still a crying shame, though, they already filmed LeBron James having a discussion with the French skunk about consent, but they dropped that scene before Pepé could be fully animated, and that was long before the news article was even written. It would’ve made a lot more sense to keep it in, but I can only assume it was cut for time.
I will say, though, all this cancel culture is getting ridiculously out of hand. If all these controversial issues have taught me anything over the years, it’s that political correctness is a double edged sword. I mean, it can be helpful and really useful if used correctly, but put it in the wrong hands, and it can lead to cataclysmic disaster, not just for the media, but for life outside the Internet, too.
Remember when they pulled Speedy Gonzales from the air and Mexicans complained to the WB for it because they saw him as an iconic character they could all relate to? They brought him back after that, and when they started working on The Looney Tunes Show, they fleshed him out a lot more without having to go “full woke”. I figure it’s only a matter of time before history repeats itself with Pepé Le Pew. Heck, even Gabriel Iglesias complained on Twitter about cancel culture, and he’s doing the voice of The Fastest Mouse in all of Mexico. ¡Arriba, arriba! ¡Andalé, andalé! ¡Yeppa, yeppa! ¡Yeehaw! But I digress.
Anyway, just because Pepé’s pulled from one Looney Tunes project doesn’t necessarily make it the end of his entire career, there’s still hope for a brighter future for our favorite French skunk. We’ve just gotta make our voices heard and hope for the best. Who knows, if we keep the discussion going l, stay positive and keep our hopes alive, Pepé Le Pew may come back more fleshed out and three-dimensional than he was before. You’ll see. 😊

Actually they are cancelling him completely from everything, and not just the movie.
Yeah, PC is getting out of hand. It's like we can't do anything without their permission.
I heard the Mexicans were mad when they canceled Speedy and demanded they bring him back. Americans are not the world's spokesmen.
We'll see what comes up later.

Nah, man, Charles M. Blowhard’s just blowing hot air because all the elements of past entertainment don’t sit right with him, and Pepé and Speedy are just the tip of his PC iceberg. You really shouldn’t believe everything you hear, EJ, or assume the worst until all the facts are laid out. Even if all this bullshit is true, that news article Blowhard wrote was merely an op-ed piece for the New York Times. Even Snopes says it hasn’t been proven: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pepe-le-pew/
Charles M. Blowhard’s just another yutz who blows political correctness and cancel culture way out of proportion. Even Whoopi Goldberg thinks so! See for yourself: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo.....epe-le-pew.amp
In fact, all my buddies at the Cartoon Research Facebook group are reassuring folks that Pepé and Speedy being cancelled are just a bunch of silly rumors spread around the Internet and they don’t believe they’re getting cancelled, either. One even got word from a Deadline article that Pepé’s removal from the movie had nothing to do with Blowhard, online backlash, OR cancel culture. (I’ll send you a message about it.) As a matter of fact, I’ve got one friend who made a video talking about it all. Just watch and you’ll see: https://youtu.be/lu-tyujh0xc
Don’t you see, buddy? Blowhard can try and make all the demands to Warner Bros. he wants, Pepé and Speedy aren’t going anywhere. And even if they do get cancelled, the fans will rally against their choices again and demand their return. It’s happened before and if they get pulled, it’ll happen again. Mark my words, EJ Husky, Blowhard will lose this case. That’s a promise.

*swoooooon* If Pepe looked as good as this, he wouldn't need to chase girls, they'd be chasing him! XD ...Although it's ironic, because I remember an episode (and heard of other ones) where Pepe covers up his stench with an intoxicating perfume... and the cat he normally chases can't keep her paws off him... causing him to run away in terror. XD
But anyway, as for Pepe being banned... ugh, seriously? Why don't they just, oh, I don't know, REWRITE THE CHARACTER? I mean, I can understand a *little* of their point: Pepe's behavior is rather inappropriate and such, but there's got to be a better solution than just getting rid of the character.
In fact, they could have the kitty he chases beat him up whenever he starts flirting, or maybe Pepe has to constantly put perfume on, or something like that. There's a lot of potential humor in all of those.
Wait... what happened with Dr. Seuss? I don't keep up with stuff like that. (does a google search) Oh holy *CRAP* what is wrong with people?! Arrrghhh...
Whatever. You know what? Whatever. People like this can be stupid all they want, while the *REST* of us will continue keeping Seuss and Pepe alive with fanart and whatnot. Okay? Okay.

Once again, Metal-mah-man, you have spoken the truth better than I could!
And as far as rewriting Pepé Le Pew goes, if it worked for Speedy Gonzales, it’s bound to work for him. You can thank the Hispanic population — particularly the Mexicans — for helping out with that, considering how much they complained to the WB for pulling him from cable. I mean, look how more fleshed out they made him in The Looney Tunes Show. If history repeats itself, it’s only a matter of time before Pepé’s given the same three-dimensional updating.

He would have more fans if he did look like this. And I have seen those cartoons too of the cat chasing Pepe. There were a few where the cat(s) do have an attraction to Pepe, but they just can't handle his scent. In fact, that's more of the reason they run away from him than just him kissing them.
That is true. They could just rewrite his character. But many people often believe that erasing history is the only solution. Or make the cat overpower him too more often.
Yup. Poor Dr. Seuss. It's cool though, when the library I work at heard about that, they displayed some of his books.
Yeah. We can continue to enjoy and have fun with these characters, while the others live miserable lives.

I thought, wow I've never seen a serious looking Pepe Le Peu lol but now I understand the reason behind it. It may not make a difference but I'm glad you have the guts to stand up to it.
I know about Dr. Suess and heard some are trying to cancel Curious George but not about Pepe. I want to laugh but it concerns [and angers] me that society as a whole [government, media, school system...etc] has accepted this new cult as the new norm to follow, a false sense of righteousness. I can only apologize this country's senseless ways is starting to infect other countries as well.

I'm sure if Pepe was real he would be angry. He's not going down so easy.
I'm just sick of all of this PC nonsense.
I heard about Curious George too. Their reasons are so stupid.
Right. America is being run by a bunch of crybabies, and they expect the world to do the same thing as well.
