i played in the snow, rolled in it had a hard core snowball fight my suit was soaked as if i did go swimming in it, took less then 3 hours to dry and the feet as well as long as you wring it out and hang it in front of a heat source IE in the window where the sun is directly shining, drys fairly quickly ^.^
I never brush after drying. I put my wolf outside in the sun and wind and it fluffed out just fine with a good shake. Brushing wears out the fur too much, pulls out too much. I have had my RedFox costume for 5 and a half years now and I have never brushed it. And yes, I wash it regularly.
Just a tip...
Just a tip...
Oh. I wish my suit would be so easy care...
My fur goes all tangled up after washing... Well darker fur in the back doesn't, so I guess it's pretty much similar to fur in your suit. That white fur instead... It would look kinda horrible if I'd leave it that way after it has been wet.
But I have a pretty gentle "dog brush" for it. Every time a small amount of fur is detached, but I just have to be very gentle to keep that amount as small as possible.

Interesting, we seem to have just about the same fur. I throw my costume in the washer on gentle (wrong side out), then hang it out either in the sun or with fans blowing on it, then just shake it out with no tangles.
It could be that the tangles are from wearing the fur through activity. Mine is brand new (it debuted at AC) and doesn't have the wear patches. Those can never be gotten rid of because its heat damage to the fur, fragile stuff that it is.
Good luck. Looks like you have a lot of fun with your costume. Playing in the snow is lots of fun, isn't it?
