An intuos? -jots it down-
Yes i've strongly considered getting just a tablet many times, but sadly all over the bugzilla and gug forums it seems full tablet support (pressure sensitivity, absolute mode, etc... ) for the win32 version's still broken and slow due to the buggy gtk+ win32, so i'm reluctant to buy one in case it doesn't work. ^^;

me i use the latest tiny intuos made by wacom. its the most accurate tablet ive ever owned and well worth every penny. it works out of the box with gimp, no set up nessisary. Ive tried large and small tablets and belive it or not the smaller ones work better than the bigger ones. you just have to make larger motions with the larger tablet, its not really any more accurate so just go small and you will be more than satisfied. Most of the problems the gimp has with tablets are with non waccom intuos tablets made by other manufacturers, in a pinch you could even get the cheaper waccom the graphire, but if it were me i would save my pennies for an intuos.
