“Like I said, we will play it nice and cool” one could hear Dean Quaza say to his Latias partner as they both hurried down a hallway of the JCU. “No word to anyone about Cypher or Katherine, especially not to...”
"Ah, so the news of one of the mightiest legendary biting the dust finally caught up with Mr. Quaza too." commented a rather big and bulky Groudon down the hall, wearing what could be described as a mismatching combo of business suit and military attire. "Good to see you up early, right in time for the opening ceremony."
“Ah crud...” muttered Raymond as he saw Donovan down the hall, apparently waiting for them. The Rayquaza took the comment about Katherine with dignity, straightening his tie as he walked along the hallway, Sylvia floating at his side. "Why of course, I couldn't live without seeing your delightful face, Don. Especially on such a memorable day." he shot back with the happiest expression and tone he could muster in such a situation, not wanting to show weakness to his colleague. "Though it surprises me you know about...that incident."
"Quaza, you off all people should know that all of us legendaries are connected and have our sources." he said, joining the two with the most rigid and stern face he could muster. " And even though I retired from the military I still have access to their data servers. Not as fancy or exclusive as your Knights Templar Club news archives but it gets the job done as well."
“Well its certainly good to know that the people I work with are well informed...” replied the Dean. For a moment there was silence, only the sound of Donovan's feet and Ray and Sylvia gliding through the air are heard on the hallway, the sound of an excited crowd coming closer and closer. The giant earth type was the first to break the silence. “I take it you planned ahead in case that Shadow or his henchmen should show up here? Got in contact with some of your Hunter buddies, mhhh?”
The Latias shot the male a clearly displeased look. “Please, Donovan, can you not just let it go once and stop behaving like an immature...” she said, being interrupted by a hand wave from the green thunder serpent. “Don't worry Sylvia, I'm used to it.” He then turned his head to the red male on his left. “And yes, I did take precautions, Donovan. And yes, I did asked my so called “Hunter buddies”, but I have other people to help us out as well. And I think even without them we could hold ourselves against that treacherous Lugia, don't you think so?”
The Groudon just shrugged and gave a faint “heh” at that remark. “If I were you I wouldn't underestimate Cypher. Katherine being dead is enough proof that we shouldn't get careless with him around.”
“I never underestimate anyone, Don. You know that.”
“Yes I do, but I just wanted to remind you.”
The draconic female rubbed her face, sighing at the Earth legendary's behavior. “You'll never change, Don.”
No more words were spoken, the group of legendaries silently moving down the hallway towards their destination.
Name: Donovan “Don” Grou
Age: Age unspecific, probably several centuries old though
Species: Male Groudon
Role: JCU Faculty Member; Coach and Combat Trainer; Headteacher of the ROTC sector of the JCU
Style: Military close combat technique
Favorite Food: Eats pretty much anything, but seems to be rather fond of Steak, also likes to drink Brandy
Donovan Grou, nicknamed Don, is one of the faculty members of the JCU. Primarily he leads the ROTC sector of the university, but also teaches combat and coaches outside the sector too. Very dedicated to his cause, his tries to teach his students everything he can in their time at the school, even outside lessons. The reason for this is because he always had to face situations in his life where he felt like he hadn't learned enough or that he didn't taught everything he could to his subordinates. This scarred him enough to vow that no student he taught should go through a similar situation.
Before applying to the JCU, Donovan worked in the military, both as soldier and commander. During the time he served, he saw many conflicts come and go, fighting in such wars as the Sixty-day Kanto-Sinnohese war (in which disputes between the two nations culminated in a short but brutal conflict, ending with a peace treaty and formation of a tighter bond between the two nations) or the Great Orre Border Crossing (in which several Warlords under the command of a bigger, more charismatic Warlord united and crossed the Orrean border to conquer the neighbouring regions). This not only gave him refined combat abilities and experience against a wide range of opponents but also helped him develop brilliant tactical abilities. And to keep the peace of the united pokenations and ensure the safety of future soldiers, he wants to share this knowledge to the best of his abilities.
Grou also seems to be pretty displeased with the existence of paramilitary groups like the Shadow Hunters or Charles Horizons agents, thinking that if there is a military, it should be enough to keep the peace and that underground groups only have a destabilizing effect. He also has no problem mouthing this opinion to his colleague Ray Quaza.
When it comes to fighting, Donovan shows the usual unusual strength of a legendary combined with century long experience in fighting various opponents. Unless he really considers his enemy dangerous, he will only try to knock them out or incapacitate them. However, he can be very deadly, having a big repertoire of attacks and abilities and knowledge how to inflict fatal damage with precise attacks.
Seeing how he spends most of his free time teaching students outside class, Don doesn't has much hobbies. With the rather big age, at some point most hobbies kinda lost their purpose to him. He still, however, enjoys watching and playing Pokeball from time to time and watching old movies. Also cooking for himself.
