Some insight:

 egotist is in the military, and as you may or may not know, facial hair (or long hair of any kind) is not allowed if you're a serviceman. It all has to be shaved constantly. Because of this rule, I have never seen Egotist with a beard. Ever.

He recently took about two weeks leave for Anthrocon and other vacationing, finally giving him the chance to grow a beard with out facial hair persecution. When I saw it, I said it looked like a scraggly hobo beard. He then proceeded to describe your stereotypical hobo, and this is what I pictured in my head.

Any good? I think so.
