Little Polar Bear - ''The Ice Cave''
Here I am, with yet another picture from The Little Polar Bear short clips series, that ran during the early and mid 90's. Quite some time has passed since I uploaded one of these.
- In this episode, polar bear Lars, Arctic hare Lena and snow goose Peeps are enjoying the beautiful view of an icy bay from atop a cliff. Lena points at a huge killer whale that appears and disappears among the twinkling ice floes. She stands near the edge in order to get a better view of it, when suddenly, the cliff starts rumbling. Lena can barely bring herself to safety before the cliff crumbles and falls into the water below! Lars runs towards her, shouting: ''C'mon! The sun causes the ice cliffs to collapse! It's safer to go to the very top of the hill!'' So they rush to the other side of the hill, and there, they discover a tunnel entrance. The three go inside and shout into the deep dark hollows of the ice cavern, hoping for any answers. But they shouldn't have, because right then, the weak floor crumbles beneath their very feet! A wild slide follows, forcing Lars, Lena and Peeps to venture deeper and deeper into the cold depths of the cavern... When they all finally come to a halt, they gaze in awe as they look around and observe all the glimmering stalagmites and ice sculptures around them...! However, their admiration soon comes to an end, when the entire place starts shaking almost as violently as the cliff outside did! ''Lars!'', Lena shouts, ''the whole area's about to collapse! We gotta keep moving!'' ''Oh... don't you worry'' is Lars' calm reply, though he also doesn't know what to do. But then, Lars looks around and notices a big, water-filled hole right behind him. ''Ooh, I know!'', he says, ''of course, that water ultimately flows outside! I'll take a look!'' And he jumps into the hole and disappears. ''Laaars!'', Peeps screams, ''stay heeere, it's way too dangerous!'' The echoing of her squeaky voice bounces through the entire area. There's silence for a moment as Lena and Peeps wait for Lars to emerge from the hole once again. Fortunately, he does, gasping: ''I found the exit...! W-We only need to dive a couple meters...!'' ''B-But I can't s-swim!'', is Lena's scared reply. ''Oh, come on, Lena!'', Lars encourages her, ''come on now, we... just have no time left...!'' Lena freezes in fear, then puts a paw on her nose and starts counting down: ''...~One... Two... T-T-THREE...!~'' And there she goes. With Peeps on her back, she jumps into the cold water, swimming after their polar bear friend, traversing an underwater tunnel that turns out to be way longer than she had hoped. Lars waits for Lena and Peeps to pass him, then swims through the remaining part of the tunnel while paying attention to his poor hare friend. Finally, they manage to leave the underwater tunnel, and there just so happens to be a giant black tail close by, belonging to none other than the killer whale, the one Lena saw from atop the ice cliff! Lars, Lena and Peeps all climb onto the back of the friendly giant. ''Hufff...!'', Lars concludes, ''thanks, Orca! That was close! ~Hahhh...~'' He looks at Lena and Peeps and gives them a paw. They all sigh, knowing that the whale will bring them to safety.
EDIT: This is actually an older picture I took, and it already had some decent follows. Unfortunately, I had to delete it because I couldn't get the picture in the right position, and in addition to that, I felt it wasn't fleshed out enough. It cost me some valuable Faves, but I think that's not really important anymore at this point. I'd really appreciate if you WOULD Fave it, though.
