(Somebody calls for some Extreme Measures...)
Having pulled off painting faces under sharp lighting in my last painting, I decided that the strong light source from the flames in this piece was a perfect excuse to do it again. I rather love how my bold shading on Megaera (メガエラ) makes her pop off the paper!
I also put more time into the sketch of this piece, since I challenged myself to come up with my own action poses without relying on reference. I must have squandered, what, 10 hours trying to find a balanced composition with these three before even getting 'round to cracking out the paints? Hopefully it wouldn't take so long next time ^^;
