Welcome,
This page is the first of a 10 part comic, where Riptor and Alexandra explore a Mayan-styled temple that she'd unearthed during a flyover of the region. She's convinced something of significant value is hidden within its depths, as the structure stands in the dead centre of a larger geographical pattern one can observe from space.
Alexandra has a strong suspicion about the nature of the relic they might uncover. If her idea proves to be accurate, she'll be getting far more than she bargained for! Dragons a notorious species; one best watch out where they've hidden their true power.
Story:
"Pfew, we finally made it!" Alex said. Riptor concurred, relieved that their trudging about the forest had come to an end; though, he remarked why they hadn't simply used a helicopter to land nearby.
"I agree, but there are rules. Erafar's preservation department doesn't allow for people to land aircraft within the forest. There'd be too many opportunists out here stealing every last relic if they'd permitted it." The wolfman groaned in response, leaving the answer for what it was.
The two adventurers ventured forth, and upon entry, noticed something rather odd.
"Say, for a place that's supposed to be deserted; why are these torches lit?" Riptor's question garnered a cheerful smirk from his fellow explorer.
"You'd think it strange, wouldn't you? But there's a good reason for it. The local indigenous tribes light these for would-be adventurers such as ourselves. The temples are filled to the brim with challenges for anyone daring enough to go inside and overcome them." Riptor wasn't sure what to make of Alexandra's answer, as he'd never heard anything like that before.
"Don't worry, let's focus less on the why and more on our immediate surroundings. Don't want to make a misstep and cause a trap to go off!" Right as she said that, a click sound came from beneath. She'd triggered a pressure plate.
Enjoy!
