So, I found a new love. ME. Eh, no. Sculptris. Which I used to create my me.
It's damn fast, easy, fun - and free! Can you believe it? D':
You can download the program here: http://www.sculptris.com/
When I figure out how to colour, I'll make myself a fancy 3D ref sheet. >:D

If you like this I think you'll like Zbrush too. Nevertheless for a 1 person development, and free and extremely "light" I'm gonna give this one a try too. Zbrush has it's "quirks" you have to get used to (and I'm not gonna lie, some quirks infuriate me lol), whereas this one seems to have less of a learning curve in that aspect.
Oh yeah, I've used ZBrush, it was pretty nice too. The problem was its complexity, though. There are so many little things to learn while you can just sculpt away with Sculptris after getting used to the few tools. I think the only problem with it so far is the unpredictable crashing. So as long as you save often you're good to go.
Actually this didn't take even a half day to make. ;) But this was my very first full body sculpt ever so it did take longer (learning tecniques). I did another pretty close to this today and it didn't take longer than 1,5 hours.
As for commissions, it's a possibility. I'm just a bit afraid I don't have the skills to do very..mm, detailed chars yet. Something with wings, for example.

I thiiink it's possible. Maybe. It was possible with ZBrush. This is pretty new though, but I guess creating a 3D program that doesn't support exporting stuff to the bigger, badder, more known 3D monsters would be like making a arting program that doesn't support .psd.
DAMN! That's all I can THINK to say.
Honestly, I've tried Sculptris and found it really cool, but it took a hell of a lot of patience and time to get everything like you have here.
And you say you've only been using it for a short while?! FUCKING AMAZING!
Really can't wait to see this colored. ;D

Hehe, when I started to get the hang of the tools it was just playing around and experimenting stuff. The only part that took a bit of thinking were the hands, feet and the hairy parts. As expected, I'd say. :D Not really happy with the mane, but I'll figure it out. ^^;
Aw, I wish I could colour this. When I tried to do it in the program it got really jagged. But luckily there is already (or going to be) a way to colour the sculpts in Photoshop. It seemed really handy so I haven't lost my hope yet. :3
