If you've seen my twitter account this month, @Introdile, you've probably noticed my icon keeps changing!
I've set it up so that every hour, a script runs that generates a randomly generated Iki. Iki is my kobold sona and kobolds in the world I'm building have color-changing scales.
Here's how it works:
The script starts by grabbing a random background and the base Iki.
Then I have a bunch of parts in a few categories (eyes, brows, ears, chins) that are randomly selected, in addition to a few extra optional categories (hats, outfits, bubbles, misc) that are sometimes added.
Next it assembles the image, placing them in a specific order: Background -> Back Layer -> Body -> Chin -> Brow -> Eyes -> Extras (outfits, hats) -> Ear -> Front Layer
(some items are in two pieces, one either being a back or front layer. For example, the Iki's with their ears up have the back ear on the back layer)
Finally it generates 3 random colors, weighted in a specific way to get more saturated colors, which it sets to be their scale colors. Then the script sets the newly forged Iki to be my icon!
This was originally made last year, which I had ran for the entirety of March then, but I've updated it and added a few new pieces for this year, which I'll be running until the end of the month. I'll likely run this every March until I'm bored of it. :3
