A bit of a spontaneous personal piece, I was inspired to create this after going through a clothing catalog. I found this dress and thought it would look good on Elke. :-P
I've also been wanting to draw my character Elke for quite some time. However, she is also my favorite therefore I become an extreme perfectionist when it comes to drawing her. In previous uploads of her, I tend to be a bit disappointed when I look back on her, however, I am confident that this one is to my standards.
This is also the first piece where I strictly used cel shading to complete the piece. It's time consuming, but it allows for me to make many more fine shading details consistent throughout the piece, and helps remove the somewhat messy and gritty look that some of my other art pieces have. I'm always aiming to improve the quality of my artwork, and I hope it shows in this image.
