Team Incarnates: The True Meaning of Justice (1/4)
Hey there guys! Targon Ghanzir here! I just need to know that the March Patreon theme isn't announced because it's about somthing...something "obscure" from the community. I'll let you know at the end of the March to find out. No surprises XD
So what we got here? More Alternate Universe of To The Abandoned Sacred Beasts? :D We got the supporting member of Team Incarnates named Christopher Keynes, the Gargoyle Incarnate with the burning sense of justice, the strong belief in will of God, and patriotism. Yay! He believes in true justice and the love of his country!
But not anyone does that. There are some tries to make justice THAT extreme. Topher has a friend named Matthew Levinski, the Semitic who still believes in their religion, as in almighty God, especially God's justice. Topher gave him an emblem, symbolizing their friendship and their shared beliefs within the church. During the war that raided Whitechurch, Matthew went missing just before Christopher joined North Patrian military and then the Incarnate project. Two months later, however, he unknowingly turned against Patria by an unknown terrorist group from overseas as he returned to the hometown of Whitechurch. He became the Golem Incarnate committing treasonous acts of "justice" by murdering the boy's mother and others with just small crimes. He went so far as to sacrifice her on the cross as an "offering" for his god-like master whom he was given this form, in exchange for his sanity and conscience.
The twisted justice gains attention f rom Christopher Keynes two months after the Patrian War. In his human form when he is able to control his beast self and his fair justice, he investigates his home Whitechurch where people had been hiding in their homes, scared by the fact that their loved ones had been tried and then executed ( as in hanged, drawn, quartered, and burned) for wrong reasons. After Topher meets an orphaned boy named Andy, Andy explains that he had lost everything as his mother was wrongly charged for less than a crime, confirming the terror on his hometown. Feeling sympathetic over the boy walking off and stealing an apple, Topher walks towards the abandoned church where he used to serve as Born-Again Christian priest. As he recognizes the emblem that he gave to his friend on the floor, he hears stony crashes from the distance. As he runs for it, stopping at the fence, he finds a monstrously large golem who had thrown spikes on Andy's shirt to trap Andy at the boulder.
"For stealing an apple, you will pay your crime with your life!" the Golem Incarnate said.
Heeding those words, Topher recognizes him as his long-time friend Matthew Levinski who once shared his beliefs during their time as missionaries of righteousness to spread the Word of God. He transforms into the gargoyle form, flies over the fence, and rescues Andy, holding the poor innocent boy in his arms to protect him from Matthew's unfair punishment. "Death for stealing an apple? Killing children is never justice! Andy does not commit a serious crime!" he warned.
However, Matthew counteracts the gargoyle's judgment, retorting that Topher had betrayed justice by fighting him. He tells him that he will wait for him at the abandoned church where he came from. Afterwards, Topher flies away and brings Andy to safety. Andy is at first scared to see the monstrous-looking living figure until Nancy Schaal with a rifle arrives. Schaal tells Andy that the Gargoyle is a friend born from the very town who gained the power to become a powerful gargoyle, to which he doesn't understand how. Later, as Topher revisits the church with his gun with Godkiller bullets from captain Hank Henriette ready, Schaal's rifle is missing. She knows that Andy has stolen it as revenge for his mother.
