It was midday, though with the snow pelting relentlessly against the sheeted ground, it was difficult to tell. Paw prints sparsely littered the snow ridden Earth, each walking in the same direction before coming to a halt, stopping right where four silhouettes stood still. These four were Reyes, Angelica, Oracle, and Honey. They were all awaiting the portal to another location for yet another heist.

Over the years, Oracle in particular, had come to somewhat enjoy these heists. Yes, people died, but no one knew the full story. They always only killed people who were dangerous to their own economies or government (mainly wiping out corrupted governments in various dimensions and planets). They were vigilantes. Oracle had taken the longest out of the family of nine to adjust to their “work”, however now he found himself anxiously awaiting the portal.

The other three were a little further to the side of him chatting, but all Oracle could think of was getting to their destination. Yet, somehow, even though he was rather amped about this mission, something felt off.

The portal should have opened the second it started snowing.
