(also i know he does resemble the target dog, unfortunately when i was a child i didnt know about the target dog...being canadian and all..so please if your going to get on my back about some copy right crap, please dont.) i only recently heard of target after joining another art site. and im not going to change the fursona i have had since i was like 9.

There are other bull terriers on site here that don't catch this kind of feedback. I think it could also be, possibly, the RED BULLSEYE TARGET on his eye. I'm not sure.
But he said he doesn't care, anyway. I mean, it's understandable if he didn't know about about Bullseye and Target at first, but now that he has learned about it, and that it's a well-established mascot, then for him to bristle up at the mention of it seems a little unreasonable.
And anyway, it's all just an echoes of Pete the Pup. Which was the first "pop culture" instance of a dog decorated this way.
But I don't expect Target will admit this inspiration, nor the artist in question, for reasons of pride and/or royalties, and so on.

I totally get where you are coming from about the whole Target thing. You were 9, didn't know about the franchise due to your location, and I commend you for sticking to your design for it and not changing it. I hope Target doesn't give you any flack for it since you are not making money off of the fursona or anything. =) It's a cute picture.
