Well hey now! This Spring I got a bit of a surprise as the recent rains brought up a nice, healthy patch of Nasturtiums that Schirm had planted around the "Tin plated Fox".

Apparently, this fox has been preying on that rabbit eating the good carrots with "Lots of iron."
I commissioned the sculpture from the artist who created a Giant Wooly Mammoth sculpture which is visible from the 60 Freeway, just before one gets to Riverside California. The fellow salvages steel from old washing machines, refrigerators, appliances and cars to create life sized or larger statues of animals with horses and dinosaurs being the most popular. For some odd reason he added plastic eyes to my "Fox" which is also more "Coyote" sized. It's one of my prized possessions from the times when I had "More money than Brains."
The sculpture was created as a custom piece by Ricardo Breceda who also built he life sized dinosaurs and other large, metal sculptures on display at the Jurupa Mountain Discovery Center, just off Interstate 60 near Riverside, CA. Mister Breceda usually crafts his sculptures from sheet steel salvaged off old appliances and automobiles, and hand forms each part. (I have a sneaking suspicion my "Tin Clad Fox" started out as a life sized coyote.) I commissioned the piece, (Back when I had more money than brains in 2004 or so.) And it cost almost $900.00 back then. It appears Mr. Breceda has retired to Temecula CA recently and is teaching blacksmithing between private showings.
