I had no idea Art Cloaky even did an adaptation of Jack Chalker's Exiles at the Well of Souls! Fantastic to see Gumby playing Zetta Halib on the platform of reality-shifting supercomputer Obie, built by Dr Gilgram Zinder and Ben Yulin to manipulate the fabric of the universe, a thing that's sure to end well.
So what really happened here is I saw a tweet from an account that does Gumby screen shots --- https://twitter.com/GumbyScreens/st.....13729025863683 --- and while I only dimly remembered the short I loved the pose. Unfortunately I can't find a Gumby episode list to track down what short this is plausibly from; any advice would be welcome.
Edited (24 March 2021) to add I found the short! It's Tail Tale, which I can find dated to 1956, 1957, and 1967, so who knows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSVGF5WM39s has it with the 80s re-dubbing. It is a transporter malfunction episode and it's everything you could hope for. Content warning: body weirdness
Also I really like the kind-of-flat aesthetic of Gumby and appreciate the chance to do a serious attempt at it.

Possibly! I haven't found the original short. It's possible there's a matching scene with Pokey's head on Gumby's legs, which could be no less unsettling. (I suppose if they're rigorous about the parts swapped, it might be a clay version of Spaceroo's classic https://yerf.metafur.org/siemjohn/taurcent.jpg ... hm.)
Tail Tale is one of my most favorite Gumby episodes. I've seen this when I was very little. The best part was Gumby and Pokey going Skylanders: Swap Force (if you know what I mean). Gumby became a centaur and Pokey was an equinal (or anthro horse that stands on two legs). And all of this started after Pokey's tail was ripped from his butt and had flowers in its place.
Oh, it's a fantastic short. A lot of Gumby episodes are great for their casual play with body shapes and integrity but this has some really inspirational scenes.
I hadn't heard of Skylanders: Swap Force, but now that I'm looking it up I'm delighted by what I learn! Thank you.
